Re: red light flashes on the xbo 360
This can sometimes be as simple as re-plugging all the cables into the 360. When the a/v cable is not in correctly then it will flash red in all 4 corners. if its any other such as the dreaded 3 red rings of death (3rrod) then you need to replace the x-clamps, re-paste the chips with some decent paste such as arctic silver, add a team xecuter 3rrod repair kit and then go over the board with a heatgun to re-seat all the solder and pads. we offer a repair service if you cant do this yourself www.fixmyconsole.co.uk
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US. click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need. Goodluck!

If the four quadrants is flashing red lights(all round red, not just a segment of it is flashing red), then you have a problem with the AV connector. It is either not being plugged in or bad so the console cannot detect it and it flashes red all round to notify you about this problem. This is how you solve your problem Disconnect the A/V cable
If your Xbox 360 console has four flashing red lights, you might
have a problem with your A/V cable. The A/V cable connects your console
to your television. A faulty connection or cable can interrupt your
Let's check your A/V cable connection
Turn your console and television off.
Disconnect the cable from the A/V port on your console.
Unplug the A/V connectors from your television.
Reconnect the cable to the A/V port on your console.
The A/V cable will meet some resistance before it is completely
connected. Make sure that the cable is fully inserted.
Plug in the A/V connectors to your television. The A/V connectors
match the colors of the component video, the composite video, and audio
ports on your television.
On the X-BOX 360 if all the lights are flashing red at startup the big plug in the back is either not plugged in all the way, or the system is unable to communicate with the television. it may be an internal problem with the system, but more likely the big plug in jack is jacked, or not plugged in fully.
Try pushing it in further. If this don't work try jiggling the cord, not the jack, slowly while pushing it in, and watching the 4 red lights.
This problem may occur when the Xbox console is too hot or is overheating. The flashing lights mean that the internal temperature of your Xbox 360 console has exceeded acceptable temperature limits. Let your Xbox 360 console cool. You may have to wait several hours for your Xbox 360 console to cool enough. Don't turn on your Xbox 360 console when the console is hot.Verify that your Xbox 360 console has enough ventilation and that the fans are operating. If the two lights continue to flash red after you try steps 1 and 2, contact Xbox Customer Support.
Microsoft can be contacted by finding the number listed on the back of your video game booklets.
When you turn on the console, look at the light on the power supply. The power supply light should illuminate green even if the three lights on the Ring of Light flash red. If the power supply is button is red than you need to replace the battery or check the connections.
The three flashing red lights may indicate that there is a hardware problem with your Xbox 360 console. If you are experiencing this problem, you can submit a console-repair request online.
All xbox 360 are given a warranty for the 3 rings of death. If you call microsoft and tell them that your xbox 360 continues to get the rings of death, they will mail you a box, take your console, repair it, install the latest hardware, test it, and mail it back to you for free.
if you have 3 flashing red lights your machine has a hardware failure which means unfortuanatly your beloved is dead. in which case take it back to the shop and demand a new one. this is a very common problem.
if its only one red light the problem is your av/component cables are not connected correctly....good luck
