My Ipod wasn't working for awhile, but now I got it on again. I have it plugged in my computer and Itunes is telling me that I have too put my password in so they can connect to my Ipod, but my Ipod won't...

Try putting the ipod into disk mode, when doing this the ipod will act as a separate hard drive. In doing this you should be able to restore or repair the ipod. Repairing or restoring your ipod should resolve the issue.
  1. Before placing the iPod into disk mode, you should verify that it is charged.
  2. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Set it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
  3. Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons for at least 6 seconds until the Apple logo appears.
  4. When the Apple logo appears, release the Menu and Select buttons and immediately press and hold the Select and the Play/Pause buttons until the Disk Mode screen appears.

Have charged ipod but screen is stuck on "low battery connect to power" cant switch off or go back to menu or any other features

Two things to try. 1. Reset. Hold down the 'Menu' and the centre button for at least 10 seconds. You should see the Apple logo & the iPod starts up again 2. Restore. Connect your iPod with the cable that came with it to the USB port on your computer. In iTunes, click and (Restore). This will rebuild all the software on the iPod and restore your songs. If this fails, Google "iPod repairs" in your country and they might be able to replace it. Otherwise you can get an exchange unit from Apple. Take it to your nearest Authorised Apple Service Centre and they will get it exchanged in a couple of days. Unfortunately this might cost almost as much as a new one.

My ipod nano is stuck on language selection and is frozen can you help me?

Hi,

If your iPod is frozen or won't turn on, the steps to reset it vary by model.

  1. Toggle the Hold switch. To do this, slide the switch to Hold (an orange bar appears) and then slide it back (orange bar is hidden).
  2. Reset the iPod by holding down the Menu and Center buttons for 10 seconds.
    • If the Apple logo appears on the display, connect the iPod to a computer and verify that it appears in iTunes and can play music. If the iPod appears in iTunes and can play music, no further troubleshooting is needed.
    • If the Apple logo does not appear or the iPod is not seen in iTunes, connect the iPod to a power source by either plugging it into an Apple iPod USB Power Adapter or directly into a computer's USB port.
  3. Let the iPod charge for at least 20 minutes. Note: If the iPod is connected to a computer, make sure the computer does not sleep, standby, or hibernate during the 20-minute charging period.
  4. After the iPod has charged for at least 20 minutes and while it is still connected to the power source, toggle the Hold switch again as in step 1.
  5. Try resetting the iPod by holding down the Menu and Center buttons for 10 seconds.
    • If the Apple logo appears on the display, connect the iPod to a computer and verify that it appears in iTunes and can play music. If the iPod appears in iTunes and can play music, no further troubleshooting is needed.
    • If the Apple logo does not appear or the iPod is not seen in iTunes, try putting the iPod into disk mode and restoring.
  6. Try putting the iPod into disk mode.
    • While in disk mode, connect the iPod to iTunes and try to restore.
    • If the iPod is still not recognized by iTunes, the iPod should be serviced.
    Hope i helped you.
Thanks.

Ipod is frozen...will not even connect to the computer.

Try this which should reset your ipod: First, toggle your hold switch back and forward and put it back to the off position. Then press and hold the menu button and the center button simultaneously for about six seconds and the screen should go blank and the apple logo should appear. After that it should work.

Nano Ipod stuck in disk mode:

Simply reset the iPod
Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.) Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 8 seconds. You may need to repeat this step. Tip: If you are having difficulty resetting your iPod, set it on a flat surface. Make sure the finger pressing the Select button is not touching any part of the click wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Menu button toward the outside of the click wheel, and not near the center.

Hooking up New IPOD Classic Crashes computer

Try going into the settings screen on the iPod and resetting all settings. If that doesn't work you may be able to use one of the many 3rd party tools available to repair the corrupted data. You may also want to try connecting it to a different computer and running itunes on it there.

Cheers

My Ipod is frozen

OK what you need to do is reset it. To do this you will need to hold down the menu and select buttons simultaneously for approx 6 seconds until the apple logo appears on the screen. This should reset and un freeze your ipod.

Try this and let me know how you get on.

Frozen

1. Is it still hooked up to the computer?

Then go to the safely remove hardware icon in the quickstart bar and stop it that way.

2. Did it get this way by disconnecting it when it wasn't stopped?

Try closing i-tunes/anapod/etc and then hook it back up to the computer. Sometimes a simple thing like using a different usb port can help, especially one hooked straight into your computer rather than a hub. Restarting the computer might help as well, maybe installing an updated version of itunes will help.

3. Is it charged?
It could just be dead.

If it is charged and you can live without it for a while maybe you can wait for the battery to drain completely(likely forever).

I would hook it up to a wall charger or ipod dock which is not attached to the computer, flip the hold switch back and forth, then hold the center button(or menu and center i believe for 30gb video) in for 10+ seconds. If worse comes to worse you will have to get it serviced, or open it up and void the warranty and possibly break it(hard reset anyone?)

But there are milder options if you don't mind losing all your music, first of all the factory reset in itunes. Or maybe it will allow you to check for a software update. It might be possible to use a program such as idump (if you have windows) to backup your music before opting for the software reset.

If worst does come to worse and you don't want to send it to apple or china or wherever, then go here....at your own risk: crunch gear
