Red dot artifact appearing in video and photos sd1100
I recently noticed that there is a red dot appearing in every single photo and video i've shot with this camera. i love it overall, but the artifact is ruining everyshot. it's fine if the object is light. on darker backgrounds it stands out like a turd in a punchbowl. can anyone tell me what this may be? looks like i'll be taking the camera back if it's a manufacturing problem.

There is nothing on the camera to convert videos to stills. You can do so on a computer using video editing software. Bear in mind that you won't get very much quality. Even HD video is only about 2 megapixels, a far cry from the stills your SD1100 is capable of.
The best advice I can give you is that next time, when you want stills you shoot stills.
I found a solution that worked for me further on in this site. The person said to reset the camera. On my Sony DSC-W100, I opened the battery/memory slot door and to the left of the memory slot there's a tiny gray dot that I pressed and the problem has gone away.
defective image processor. use in continuous mode, but take only 1 shot. may not be expensive to fix. not user serviceable, and not something you can't live with if you can take images in cont mode. consider having it evaluated by the factory and getting a quote for repair if it bothers you not being able to shoot in single shot mode. nikon does seem to have more trouble than most in their non-premium products. good luck mark
Not sure what you mean?
You have 16 single shots one after another
Now what do you want to do?
Turn the camera back to single shot?
Read the Manual -Full manual in PDF format on disk
Do something with the shots themselves?
Use image editor in computer
Do none of these?
