Red dot artifact appearing in video and photos sd1100

I recently noticed that there is a red dot appearing in every single photo and video i've shot with this camera. i love it overall, but the artifact is ruining everyshot. it's fine if the object is light. on darker backgrounds it stands out like a turd in a punchbowl. can anyone tell me what this may be? looks like i'll be taking the camera back if it's a manufacturing problem.

I have the exact same problem. A red dot appeared in every single picture I took. I sent it back to Amazon and got an exchange for the same camera. And guess what? There is a red dot in every picture I take with this SECOND new camera. The dot is in a different location this time. I do not mistreat these cameras. In fact, I pamper them. And I know how to operate them. I am familiar with and use almost every mode and feature of the camera.

I'll bet there are many other SD1100's out there with the same problem, but their owners have not yet noticed this occurrence. Once I discovered it, and now that I know it's there, it really annoys me. I haven't yet decided what I'm going to do - call Canon or Amazon. Bummer.

No, your camera cannot use SDHC cards. It's only a 4 megapixel camera so a 2GB SD card will hold hundreds of pics.

IPhone 3G and 3GS Tips - Not in a user manual!

Here's some interesting tips on how to get the maximum out of your iPhone - features that are not usually mentioned in the users manual.
Zoom in and out in Google Maps: Everyone is familiar with the 'pinch' with two fingers to zoom in or out in google maps. A problem with this is the rendering detail in maps depends on what level you've zoomed. You might have noticed with pinching to zoom in, that the map is sometimes blurred. A simple solution to this is to double tap to zoom in. Google maps zooms in to such a level where you get the best detail of the map. Wouldn't it be so good if there was a similar tap option to zoom out? Turns out there is one - Single tap using TWO fingers to zoom out. Once again, the app adjusts the zoom level to get the best map detail. I've found this pretty useful and quick when I'm looking for directions or searching for a location.
Sorting your photo library by 'Videos' and 'Photos':My iPhone photo library has tons of photos and videos. It's a pain to locate a video amidst so many photos in the photo library. So instead of using photo library to view photos, I sometimes use the Camera app, and enter the photo library (bottom left with the last image preview) from there. On top you'll find these options - All, Photos, Videos. Tap on one of those, and bam! you have your library sorted by the type of file!
Screen shot of your iPhone: A pretty common tip - press the home button and the screen-off button to save a screen shot of your iPhone to your photo library.

I have an intermitent problem with my video display. More often than not, little red dots/pixels appear throught the screen, most obvious on photos or graphics. I upgraded from the basic 2gb ram to 4gb...

Hello. The red dots or pixels are due to your video card being overused and/or heating. Try updating to the latest drivers for your video card. You can find the latest drivers for your computer here:

I am not very sure of this but i am planning to try it tomorrow and see by myself...

defective image processor. use in continuous mode, but take only 1 shot. may not be expensive to fix. not user serviceable, and not something you can't live with if you can take images in cont mode.
consider having it evaluated by the factory and getting a quote for repair if it bothers you not being able to shoot in single shot mode.
nikon does seem to have more trouble than most in their non-premium products.
good luck

Not sure what you mean? You have 16 single shots one after another Now what do you want to do? Turn the camera back to single shot? Read the Manual -Full manual in PDF format on disk Do something with the shots themselves? Use image editor in computer Do none of these? Try another way of putting the question
