Question about Mitsubishi VS-50607 50" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

I have a Mitsubishi VS-50607 and it will turn on then off.

I just received a Mitsubishi VS-50607 from my uncle. I don't know a whole lot about them - trying to do some reading up on them. Anyway, as soon as I turn the tv on, the green LED light will come on and then the tv will automatically turn off.

This model is equipped with a self-diagnosis feature to help with diagnosis of shutdown problems. To activate this turn the unit on let it shutdown then press the input/device and menu buttons on the front panel simultaneously and hold them in for 5 seconds after 5 seconds the power LED on the front panel will blink a two digit sequence. This will be one set of blinks a short pause then another set of blinks, this will repeat 5 times. 1 - 2 = no error detected 2 - 1 = X-ray protect (high voltage or beam current) 2 - 2 = Short protect (short protect monitors low voltage supplies) 2 - 3 = Deflection protect (this could be loss of vertical or horizontal deflection) 2 - 4 = Vertical protect (usually loss of vertical from the source.

Howdy,
CHECK and replace C2P05 100 UFD 16 V OFF PIN 3 OF IC2P01 AND IC2P01 PART # 270P466020 (9-VOLT REGULATOR). BOTH ARE ON THE SIGNAL PCB. REPLACE NO MATTER WHAT.

Vertical output IC most likely needs to be re-solderd. However this model is famous for the CRT leaking coolant in the area of the Vertical output IC and corroding the solder. Check for a sticky residule near the Vertical IC indicating a leaky CRT seal.
