Question about Technics SA-DX950 Receiver
I have no sound from the speakers and when I press the "HELP" button, I have a message scroll across the display the says, "HIGH TEMP - REDUCE VOLUME"..No matter what I do with the volume, there is no sound...Have read through the "TROUBLESHOOTING" section of the manual and have tried the suggested fixes to no avail...Anyone know what the fix is to my problem??
This is caused by the Thermal protection device inside.
First Unplug the Reciever, let it cool for about 15-30 Min and then
Check all speaker wires to make sure they are in good condition,
no fraying wires or loose .
Plug in the reciever, make sure there is nothing on top of it,
(also do not have a shelf directly over it, you need a good 8" of
clearance above it for adequate ventilation..
Now push and hold the Reset button on the left side of the front panel
and see if this restores it.
Another thing to try is, get a can of compressed air for computers and
try blowing out the dust thru the vents on top and sides of the case,
Note ** (Do not open the unit to do this)
