Question about Garmin Nuvi 760 Handheld GPS Receiver
Go to settings, you will see blank box for language settings (where you tell it to use TTS or normal or other spoken language etc.) select language of your choice again. You will be all set. Nuvi tends to loose its voice settings sometimes.

Go into the setup menu where you select the nuvi "voice" -
On my 260W it's Options, Settings, Language, Voice
Notice that some of the voice options have (TTS) after the name. This stands for Text To Speech. My guess is that you accidentally switched to one that does not have TTS.

Does your Nuvi 200 have a headphone jack? If so, try that with a pair
of headphones. If you hear sound, then your internal speaker went bad.
It's a known problem with the Nuvi.

I have the same problem with my Nuvi 350. It's only about 2 months old and the sound went. I turned it on the other day to use it and the sound did not sound right, it sounded like the speaker was blown. I turned it off and turned it back on and that was it, the sound was gone. I did everything possible and can't get the sound to come back. I called Garmin and now I have to send it in for repair. I looked around the web and noticed that Garmins have big issues with the sound going on the units. I hope they fix that issue.

Sounds like your speaker went south. Since your fm transmitter is working I'll be your earphone jack is too. So you could always use an earphone. Only other option is a speaker replacement.

SOURCE: lost voice on my garmin 750
Look under settings>language>voice. Select American English and it will work again. The same thing happened to me this week on my new Garmin 750 and I took a couple of days to figure it out. Hope this helps.

You need to connect a data cable between your Nuvi and PC. Go to Garmin.com and download their WEBUPDATER program and run it. It will scan your Nuvi and tell you if there are any updates available and you'll be able to download all the voices you want.
