Re: brikka don't open!!

Three approaches to this: 1. Apply more force. Easier said than done, because these things, while elegant, are always an awkward shape. If you can't get a pair of rubber strap wrenches, you might try wrapping the bottom section in a couple of layers of cotton to keep it from getting scratched, and clamping it in a vice. Get a loop of cord, hook it over the lug the handle goes onto and stick a pole into the other end. This should allow you enough leverage to unscrew the top. 2. Pour boiling water into the top section, let it heat the top up a bit, then pour out the water and attempt to unscrew (in theory, differential expansion should improve the clearances and make it easier to undo) 3. Combine (1) and (2). A.

I cannot find a user manual for my La Cimbali M50 Dolcevita. Can anyone help?

The M50 manual comes in 2 styles; Install and operate which will usually come with a new machine. The technician's book is only available to techs. Though the tech's book is in multiple languages there is certainly a lot of cross translation issues. Cimbali suggests attending their technician's work shop (in Italy) though if your lucky you may be able to spend some quality time with their USA distributor/rep. The M50's, M1,2,3,5 etc. are more complicated than the rough and tumble M30's. It would be wise to have a tech service your machine for the first year and have your own repair guy watch what they do. You can easily master the simple change out. More important is to perform the daily tablet cleaning and when time permits; perform a "no tablet flush" another words; run the cleaning cycle with out the tablet. This flushing helps keep the coffee drips clear from the brewing chamber and spout. Keep in mind that the flush cycle takes and average of 8 mins so perform it during a slow period.

My mum gave me de longhi expresso machine 3yrs old today with no instructions i dont know how to use it were milk goes what coffee to use where water goes how to clean it etc could you help please

I am not sure of that particular model but most do not store milk... You use the steam generator to steam through the milk, held in a separate container. Since you are new at this, get into the habit of cleaning it regularly as without cleaning everything can clog. When you buy coffee start out with a "dark roast" and build your way to an espresso blend, usually the darker the coffee the oilier the bean and hence cleaning gets more important. If you grind the coffee beans yourself use the finest grind available. And enjoy the coffee!

Side valve is releasing pressure too early.brikka is 3 months old

check your filter plate to make sure it isn't clogged , that could make the safety valve do it's job and go off.
