I can't install mfc-240c to my computer with windows vista i tried meybe 20

Start > Accessories > Command Prompt

OR

Start > Run > type "cmd.exe" (without quotes) and click OK

In the black window that opens, type "sfc /scannow" (without quotes) and
press Enter. Have your Windows XP CD handy.

After doing a bit of reading, it seems the Brother MFC-240C model is discontinued. I didn't see any support for windows 7, so what we can try is changing the compatibility.

1) Uninstal the suite/drivers, then restart your computer.
2) Reinstall the suite/drivers and restart your computer once again.
3)Look for BrCtrCen.exe in the directory of where ever the suite is installed.
Should be either
C:\Program Files (x86)\Brother\ControlCenter3\BrCtrCen.exe (for 65 bit windows)
C:\Program Files\Brother\ControlCenter3\BrCtrCen.exe (For 32 bit windows)
4) Right click BrCtrCen.exe, go to compatibility options and set the compatibility to vista.

switch on the printer
1. install driver for mfc-240c
2. go to control panel in your computer
step to control panel
select START then control panel
3. select printer mfc-240c right click on it and then click on click on <Set as Default Printer>
4. right click again on it the select <properties> then select "print test page"
test page will printout on printer
5. now you can use mfc-240c as printer

after that if it has a usb cable or a regu;ar printer cable ...conect it to the pc
when its plugged well you will hear a bel sound from the new device found wizard...
ya may also run the driver first ...so in the moment that you plug the printer you already have it into your pc..and the wizard will just complet the installation

first unplug ur usb cable from ur mfc-240c than deinstall all drivers of your printer

than reboot your system

click on your country flag and download the latest drivers for ur mfc-240c

install it

than when asked for ut plug in your usb cable from ur mfc-240c

the computer wil find your mfc-240c now whend asked for reboot than reboot

The solution for this one's an easy fix. All you have to do is go to brother, click on Product Support, select your country or the nearest one to you, then where it says please enter your model name type in mfc-240c and hit enter. Click where it says MFC-240C and then go to downloads, select drivers, then your operating system, and then your language, and finally, click search. It will bring you to the page with teh drivers for your printer. In the downloads area, you can also download the manuals, the software for your printer, etc.. It's all quite well laid out.
