The glass plate of the oven is not rotating, what should I do.is it safe to run the oven like this.

The motor driving the turntable is faulty, using the oven like this will not damage the oven, the food will not be cooked evenly though. Open the door and rotate the food occasionally to ensure allround cooking, close door and continue cooking.

My Russell Hobbs microwave seems to be stuck on some kind of timer and I've tried everything to cancel it but it's not having any of it. When it's not actually cooking it seems to be in some get ready mode...

Put a glass of cold water in it as see if it heats up? All microwaves have a timer so that after cooking the internal fan stays on to remove cooking smells and condensation from the chamber. It should however turn off after about 5 minutes as long as the door is closed. The plate should only rotate when a time is set and the cook button is pressed.

Center will not rotate

The glass plate is driven by a motor underneath. Power may not be getting to the motor or the motor may have failed

Siemens HF26066GB plate is moving when door closed and not moving when open

Have a shop look at this---there usually is a recessed safety switch inside the jam that will prevent the unit from working with door open--sounds like the problem may be with it.

Food won't heat up

Hello, I had the same problem, and just fixed mine. Start by turning on your microwave (on mine, the light turned on and timer worked, but the fan nor the plate turned)... push the door upward and see if the microwave turns on... (mine did). so far so good. open the door and take the upper hinge cap off with flat head screwdrive. take the door off and place a small washer on the bottom hinge, put the door back on. your microwave should be good now. essentially, the door just needs to be pushed up a bit so it will work.
good luck, hope that works for you...

Glass plate does not rotate

on the bottom of the micro underneath the shield there is a small moter for turning the plate.. also if the plate and roller are not centerd correctly it will not turn ,.. remove the plate and balence a glass on the triangle in the center of the micro shut door and start micro observe if turning ..also some micros have a button selection on the control to reverse the micro plate rotation and stop it --check these things and get back to me..

Russell hobbs combination microwave oven (HOB CJ/AL28).The plate inside my microwave no longer rotates and also the light has stopped working to, it is only a year old! Also when it gets to hot its turns...

This is usually caused by either a bad door switch or a loose door switch mount, which are pretty simple problems to fix.

It sounds like the switch is not activating properly, and the inside light, turntable and magnetron cooling fan are not coming on.

If the magnetron runs without the cooling fan, it will overheat and its thermostat will interrupt the power to the oven until it cools back down.

Door switch or mount trouble is usually caused by slamming the door or by opening the door while it's cooking without hitting the Stop pad first.

There are plastic mounts inside the microwave which hold the door switches and onto which the door latches lock when you close the door.

The screws on these mounts may be loose. If they get too loose, the switches will not be activated properly.

Sometimes it's a broken tab on the switch holder, allowing the switch to rotate just out of position. This tab can be hard to see, since it is under the bottom edge of the switch.

If you or someone you know decide to look into it, we have critical information on safety, disassembly and door switches at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa:.
