Probably neds confirmation of ignition. Clean up the spark ignition sensor and retry. Their are more than one type of electronic ignition. The direct spark older type pilot light the pilot then confirms it is lit back to the control then the man gas is allowed to come on. Newer furnaces have a draft maotor that sucks a hose and trips a switch to prove the motor is running then the ignitor is allowed to come on, after a few moments the fire is turned on. At that moment in time the flame washes in the flame sensor. That gives the control confirmation of ignition. If eithr of these type systems are dusty or greasy or rusty they cannot confirm ignition. So use some sand cloth to clean them puppys and party on.

Pilot light doesn't stay lit

The thermocouple may have failed. It looks like a copper wire that goes from the gas valve and leads to the pilot light. My first thought is that the pilot light burner is not burning hot enough because its got dust in it or a spider web blocking some of the air it needs to burn hot. If the pilot stays on long enough to bring the main burner on, a dirty main burner lighting rough will cause the pilot to snuff out. To do the actual repair I would suggest that you contact the manufacturer on the internet. Getting up to your elbows in a gas appliance without professional help is asking for dangerous serious trouble. Good luck.

Pilot burnes yellow and stays lighted when I turn the may burner on its on for about 30 sec. then goes out pilot and burner

You may be low on gas in the tank and there's not enough pressure and/or volume of gas to sustain it. Also, try carefully cleaning the burner elements.

You've all missed the plot. The pilot is on - the burner won't ignite. That sounds like the oven thermostat is turned down, or the electricity has been turned off.

When you say it stays on, Does the main burner actually light? If the burner never lights, then I'd look closely at the igniter, as it also acts as the flame sensor. Possibly you have a good enough ground to get a spark, but not good enough to sense the flame. If the main flame is starting, look and see if it is blowing off of the igniter. If this is the case, perhaps it isn't in the correct position, or there are still a few dirty passageways in the main burner. You can download a manual for your heater here: http://www.haywardnet.com/products/Manuals/pdfs/Manual285.pdf

Goodman furnace seems to be cycling too often. Burner not staying on long enough to put warm air into system. Burner quits after a few seconds then repeats.

dIf the burners are only staying on for about 5 seconds, you proably hav e a dirty flame sensor. Watch the burners light, the glow plug will light one end of the burners, in front of the last burner to light the will be a small thin rod, this rod must sense the flame or the gas will be shut down. Take a piece of steel wool and gently cleqan the rod.

Grill wont stay lit

These new tanks have a safety device installed in them . If you open the valve quickly or tip the jug the damn thang won't work. Take the tank loose, open all the grill valves and close all valves. Reconnect the tank and SLOWLY open the valve a hair. Light the burners. No need to open the valve all the way. if you do the dumb safety will plug the jug.

Nexgrill patio heater won't stay lit

I called Nexgrill technical support at 1-800-913-8999. They are sending me a new thermo couple to keep the valve open when ignited - so the patio heater will stay on. I needed to give them the serial number (inside the propane tank door) and fax them a copy of the receipt.

Hope this helps.
