No. It did not help. Any other suggestions? The CD spins for a few moments then stops.

If the cd loads but does not play, and you hear a whirring noise from the inside, then that means that the lens are dirty.

Use a cd cleaner like the ones here first.

If that does not work, you will need to take apart the unit, access the lens, and clean it using cotton tips and isopropyl alcohol.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

As it would seem that cleaning was not corrective, then it would most likely be a defective laser. Some CD units could have laser assemblies replaceable but this would require determining the part number, sourcing for the part and replacing the faulty one. In the US, to my understanding, most service centers and for that matter the techs, would go for assembly replacement, not the lens alone but the entire CD player. This calls for the dis-assembly, removal of the erring CD assembly, determining the part number, brand or manufacturer.

This of course would require opening the unit, perform voltage measurements, determine faulty component and subsequent part(s) replacement. Further, a fair familiarity of electronic components/circuitry and safety procedures, use of a DVM and a soldering iron would be required. It would be to your added advantage access to a service manual or at the very least a schematic diagram with voltage readings.Should you be uncomfortable performing a DIY (do-it-yourself), perhaps your best bet would then be to seek the services of a qualified professional.

Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

There is a known problem with the cd players on these units,
The laser may become stuck on the track, sometimes using a qtip to push it to one end will fix it,
If not the cd player will need replaced.

The lens could be dirty. You can initially use a lens cleaning solution or lens cleaning kit

The remote for my radio/cd player won't work any longAny suggestions? The model is: jWIN JXCD3250 Classic Style CD/AM/FM

Remove the batteries, clean the battery terminals with rubbing alcohol and Q-Tips and replace the batteries with new ones, if no! I would suggest you have someone look at it, usually find bad solder connections that need touch up.

The CD player is no longer working. Not sensing it.

buy a cleaning disk, or get a micro fiber cloth, and take the stereo apart and find the laser lens, near the motor that spins the cd, it will be pretty small, gently wipe it clean in one direction, if that doesnt work, the laser has quit working.

Singing machine ism 1010

My machine has the same problem and I got the same response from the company. I discovered a quick fix. With needle nose plyers I removed the wire from the corner of the lid that holds the lid open. Without the wire, the lid remains closed and the CD will play. The downside is that its tricky to open the lid. I've been using the piece of wire I removed to gently pry the lid open. I think I will glue a knob or ribbon to the top of the lid to make it easier to open. This isn't a perfect fix, but it was quick & free and now I can use my machine!

The mikes are easy. Generally the wire gets disconnected - so you can either buy a new wire connector or have it soldered - very easy job. Not sure about the screen display problem - good luck

Aiwa CSD TD310- manufactured 2001 - looks like this(above)1)Problem getting cd to work; 2)need help with "sleep" button:how to set

Well, for the CSD-ED27 the sleep works like this:
1. press STOP/MEMORY and then also
2. press PREPEAT/FM MODE/OSC
3. your display will show 10
4. use the tuner - & + to good from OFF-90 mins

As to you CD player not playing:
it is sounds like the spinner might be not spin completely flat to the optical reader. This happen with my portable CD player, however at this time I do not have a fix for you. Good luck though.

CD error

Usually the turning longer than usual means the laser is having a hard time reading the disc. See if the same disc will work in another cd player, if its not the disc try cleaning the lens with a lens cleaning disc. ER (error) usually means a> the disc is unreadable or b> the laser is dirty or inoperable
