The vent and the dryer and tube were all cleaned, still not heating well, the MODEL # is MDE4000AYW.

Does it make a difference if it is on timed or sensor?

I am having the same problem. My husband and I cleaned out the vent and it is still not working. I also think it is a sensor. The time dry works, but the sensor drive doesn't.

The dryer is taking twice as long to dry as usual. It does not seem to make any difference whether on sensor dry or timed dry. There seems to be heat. The lint filter and exhaust tubing are clear. Might this be a sensor problem? What function does the limit switch perform?

First off you need to turn on your dryer and go outside and see how much airflow if it is not standing the damper all the way open you got a stopped up vent and that is why it is not drying

yes try it on timed and see if it does better that cuts the moisture sensor off

Hi, sounds like a plugged vent. Pull the dryer out from the wall and disconnect the vent.Clean out any lint and make sure you have good airflow to the outside.

The 'radiant sensor/ needs to be replaced. This sensor tells the system that the flame is lit and everything is good. Go to repairclinic.com

Maytag Neptune Dryer taking hours to dry a load

Hello Friend, Your solution is simple. It sounds like your dryer is working properly, and your actual problem is a blockage somewhere in your 4 inch exhaust tubing. Check it and make sure it is not clogged up with excessive lint. Also if your tubing is clear you need to check your connection where it travels thru the wall etc. It would be a good idea to find the actual location where it exits to the ouside and check for good airflow. Your dryer is equiped with a safety thermistat and if you are not getting the proper exhaust flow the burner will cut off and restart in the manner that your's is doing. I Hope I have helped you, Tim. And please don't forget to give me your rating for my help.

Maytag Neptune Dryer-stopped heating

first, check the exhaust, make sure every inch of it is clean on the inside. if there is any blockage, the heat will build up in the exhaust and a sensor will shut down the heating element.

My neptune dryer

the wire my be off the sensor , but when you say it worked after cleaning vent makes me think the vent needs more cleaning, the dryer is designed to run until the clothes are dry if that takes 4 days it will run 4 days, if the vent is not good it cant dry, remove the vent and run a load see what happens with out any vent on it
