    1) Plug ALL the power cables in? Two for the motherboard, and cables for peripherals. (Harddrive and optical drive/s)http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/sy... Over by the Ram Memory slots, and outside edge of motherboard,http://www.playtool.com/pages/psuconnect... Also when you replace a Power Supply, the Ram Memory get's bumped. You MUST remove all ram memory modules, and reinstall. This way you are ASSURED the ram memory modules are seated tight. Post back in a Comment.

Check that the power supply is the correct one for the laptop. It sounds as if the supply doesn't have enough power to supply the laptop (Watts)

My amp was blinking while it was working then it went off.Now it doesn't power up..Crown Xti 4000

Power supply likely failed. Electrolytics are the primary culprit.
It should have a switchmode power supply, so it is lmost likely the 5 volt section failed.

My emachine T2958 would not boot. the fans run but no bois nothing. i realise on the mother board alight is on by the letter F.Is it the motherboard ? help please

A good way to tell is disconnect your hard drive's, & CD/DVD ROM's power & data cable. Try to boot.

If you get the same results then you can try & remove any PCI cards from the board, remove your ram stick. Try to boot. If you get an error beep because you are missing ram than this is good.

Replace 1 ram stick back into your motherboard & try again. If it boots then you know the other stick is bad.

If removing all the non-essentials from your motherboard doesn't work then all you have left are the motherboard & power supply. A simply power supply tester or spare power supply will tell you if it is your board or not.

I got my KM60 in Singapore where they use 240V. I moved back to the states and now when I turn it on the amp buzzes for a few seconds and then it has a faint static while it is on. This static...

The only change you need to make for the 120 operation should be to change the fuse to a 2 amp fuse. Faint static is typical of the electronic noise of amps... as long as it it is faint. The power supply will act differently on 120 than 240... probably takes a brief more time to get the system stable, hence the initial buzzing. As long as it performs don't worry about it.

My tv doesn't stay on - i plug it in & turn it on but a blue screen comes on & in 5 seconds the tv shuts off & the power button red lite just blinks

I think theres a problem in the power supply of your televesions. If the power supply heve leak or shorted parts at the circuit,it may shut off and not continous to power on.So it better to repair and trouble shoot the power supply.

Make sure your power supply is set for the correct region you are in, if that does not work, check the obvious stuff like your monitor having power and being on and all that. If that doesn't fix it your Motherboard is likely fried and you will have to replace it

I sent i a question yesterday .Still I'm unable to

If the screen shows running in lower power as an error. I think your powersupply isn't supplying enough power to the computer, and probably needs to be replaced.

Sony xplod 1200 watt amp quit no kind of protect lite on please

short answer yes... Long answer... Amp Failure: There are many different ways that an amp can fail but the two most common failures are shorted output transistors and blown power supply transistors (< those are not blown). There are several types of protection circuits in amplifiers. The most common are over-current and thermal. The over-current protection is supposed to protect the output transistors. Sometimes it doesn't work well enough to prevent the failure of the output transistors but it will work well enough to shut the supply down before the power supply FETs are destroyed. If the amp remains in protect mode, goes into protect mode or blows the fuse as soon as the remote voltage is applied, shorted output transistors are almost certainly the cause. If the fuse protecting the amp is too large, if the protection circuit doesn't respond quickly enough or if the power supply is poorly designed, the power supply transistors may fail. If you see a lot of black soot on the power supply transistors (near the power transformer), the power supply transistors have failed. Soot on the board doesn't necessarily mean the transistors have failed. Sometimes, technicians don't clean up the mess from a previous failure. Transistor Failure/Checking Transistors: In general, when a transistor fails, it will either short (common for output AND power supply transistors) or open (common for power supply transistors). Transistors act like valves. They control the current flowing through a circuit. A shorted transistor acts like a valve that's stuck open (passing too much current). In the case of an output transistor, the shorted transistors tries to deliver the full rail voltage to the speaker output terminal. If you've ever seen a damaged amp that pushed or pulled the speaker cone to its limits when the amp powered up (common on some Rockford amplifiers), that was almost certainly due to a shorted output transistor. When checking transistors, you most commonly look for shorted connections inside the transistor. You do this by using a multimeter to look for low resistance connections between the transistor's terminals. Note: I used the terms short and open on the previous paragraph. A short (short circuit) is a path through which current flows that should not be there. An open (open circuit) is a break in the circuit. It is most likely the power supply that has taken a ****.
