Question about PC Desktops
Google the manufacturer and hopefully you can find the software, drivers and installation instructions online.
Read and follow the mfgr. instructions for installing the webcam.
Here's a link to an installation procedure for webcams.
It's a bit crude but descriptive.
Please come back and let me know if this helped you

Tips for a great answer:
and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "Dell
Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support).
Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating
system when requested. Download and install the Webcam drivers.
You can always download Manycam and install it. Go to www.google.com and in the search box type: "download.cnet.com" (without the quotes). Click on the link to go to the site. When the site opens look down on the left and you will see a gray area that says Find Software. Type "Manycam" (without the quotes) in the white search area then hit the search mirror. When it brings back your results look for the one that says ManyCam Virtual Webcam. Down load it and install it. Make sure you remove the check box on any junky programs it would like to install. You only want to install ManyCam, no additions whatsoever during the install. ManyCam is totally FREE and easy to use, and you will always know where your webcam software is.
