your screen have been affected with water. When you accidentally drop your phone in water, DO NOT turn the phone on yet instead put the phone in a bag of rice, the rice helps to seep water. Since you turned on the phone already, there is nothing to do but get the phone repaired or replaced.

I got problem sony w980i.....if i turn it on...cant see screen...i see light only...,><...already 5 times i go fix same prob only...

May be you need to have the screen checked. You may have dropped your phone or always have it on your trouser pocket and accidentally have the screen compressed.....just a thought.

Sreen has gone blank

This happened to me when I dropped my phone in the sink. I took it all apart and laid all the parts out to dry for 2 hours. It works fine now. You can also try doing a hard reset. Keep the phone turned on and take the battery out. Wait 30 secs before replacing the battery. If that doesn't help, try calling your service provider.

Dropped my phone in sink of water

You may have caused a short in the device. Basically once your cellphone is exposed to water, the best solution would be to IMMEDIATELY remove the battery, and place the device in a bowl of rice. The rice serves to absorb the moisture, and within a day, should restore your phone :D.

It doesn't hurt to take it apart and dry it by hand though, but by trying to use a non-dry phone you may have to get a new one.
