Go into the multimedia, then to AT&T Music, then Music Player. There you can choose between All Songs, Playlists, Artist, Albums, or Genres, tap a song to play.
its in the quick start guide that came with the phone, under play music. it works great

I still want to get it into the LG VU Music Player app instead of the rogers music player i have.. if you have the rogers music player i added songs with a usb through Mass Usb Storage transer intead of the music or service mode when it pops up through Windows Media player and you can still drag and drop and it organizes your files into albums and your music and will display the album art though the rogers music player and keep playing songs, i was using the phones file reading player but it doesn't have the shuffle or repeat options just send file or file information..though i do like the Black and white ambiance art it suits the phone...Im still looking for a way to get it to the actual lg vu music player with the green music note so if you find out let me know.. the vu phones are all the same for software im pretty sure but i have a LG VU TU 915 and thats what i did to stop the annoying fact of reaching in my pocket everytime a songs done playing to hit next or play....

U have to follow this process.
Install Any USB drivers which are needed for your cable. Then connect your phone to the PC. Open Windows Media Player and click on the sync tab in Windows Media Player. Now on your phone hit MENU->Get It Now->Option 1 Music and Tones->6 Sync Music and the phone should show up under the devices in Windows Media Player. Now add the songs you want transfered to the sync side of Windows Media Player. Click Sync in Windows Media Player. and finally enjoy your music.
