SOURCE: Got the Kenwood ddx419 working good but when I try

Incorrect, you only need the special cable to be able to play video. The default AV In setting is set to require the special cable for sound, but it is not required. All you need to do is rest the deck (press the little red triangle on the face) and then in the setup change the AV setting from ipod to AV IN and it will work

After driving for about thirty minutes my amp will just cut off, it seems a little hot and then it will turn back on in about 10 minutes. I'm not playing my music loud at all and I have all kenwood...

sounds like your speaker is either the wrong resistance for your amp ie your amp may state 4 ohms and your speaker is 2 ohms which means that the speaker is shorting out the amp and its going into protection mode or the speaker could be burning out and shorting out the amp

Kenwood kdc-x769.everything works on the deck just fine other than no sound at all-not even static. did a full and proper install into vehicle and cant get anything to come through the speakers-any help or...

you may want to check and make sure none of the speaker wires or speaker terminals are shorting out. it just takes one shorted speaker or speaker wire to shut off the entire audio.

try resetting it if it has a reset button see if that works. also, disconnect one of the speaker wires(like green, and green w/black stripe) from behind the unit and try connecting it direct to a speaker that you know is working. if it works your stereo is fine and the issue might be an amp or a short in the wires. If you try all that and all fails, your signal processor chip inside the stereo might have shorted. thats the one that gets bolted to the rear of the stereo(inside) against the chasis. it will have some thermal paste on it when you remove the housing. just telling you this in case you want to try and fix it yourself. now, make sure you don't erase or fudge the processor(chip) model number. go here and see if they have it before you take it off(if you want to try and fix yourself)., these guys have everything pioneer, jvc, and kenwood...i mean everything.

There is a short going on, disconnect your speakers one by one and when the unit comes out of protect mode trace the wires and isolate the short.
