Dear that metal sleeves are made of aluminium and its for protecting the wires from over heating. if you are removing the spark plugs, you have to pull the wire along the metal sleeves.

How to change spark plugs in a 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS, V-6

The three plugs in the back are a bit tricky but 2,4,6 are all back there 6 is right by the O2 sensor you might have to feel around for them but you don't need a jack or any special tools just a ratchet, small extension 5/8 SP socket slide the metal sleeve forward and yank ******* the rubber plug wires after a while they will come loose 4 it about 3 inches to the left of 6 and 2 is back behind the coolant Reservoir

Its not starting believe the wiring is wrong but need to see a diagram to make sure

You have to first check for spark by removing the sparkplug and reatach the plug wire and ground the plug to the metal on the engine. Pull the cord and see if it sparks between the sparkplug gap, the porslin and the metal. If it does not spark switch the 2 wires around to see if it makes a difference.

1998 Honda Civic DX. Melted Boots in Spark Plug Sleeve

I would use a pair of long nose pliers to grab a hold of them and pull them off, there are metal connectors inside the boots which snap onto the top of the spark plug.

Changing spark plugs

it is possible to remove sleeves but if they are stuck on plug you WILL bend them up pretty long as you can get em back on snug enough to protect plug wire boot, who cares if they're a lil beat up.good luck

THE metal cover is just a sleeve on wire. it will come off with it. try turning wire back and forth to loosen it up from plug. helps a lot to have a set of wire puller pliers

Changing spark plug wires in 1998 camry

You aer not clear about your problem, when replacing plugs and wires all the boots need to stay in place, the larger boot goes around the spark plug, making sure the metal is secure around the tip of the plug, the oppisite end fits the distributer cap, making sure the metal at the end of the wire is securely in the hole. You said you have 3 boots, you should boots for each end of each plug wire and a plug wire for each spark plug

Spark Plugs

You must mean the wire. There is a metal heat shield around the wire at the motor and it is connected to the wire.Just put a pair of needle nose pliers on the metal sleeve and twist it and pull it off
