Kenmore dishwasher model 665-13269k110 not draining well

I have been working on the issue for 2 days now. History: floor model installed by Sears a year ago. It never cleaned well or drained completely. Started getting worse dishes coming out dirtier than when they went in. I pulled it out cleaned it well, tested hoses, pulled rusty metal and shards of glass out of pump area. Re-assembled, opened up the punch out on disposal better, hung hoses higher under sink and then tested. It cleaned very, very well but left a ton of water in the bottom. It is draining but not well at all. Any suggestions before I buy a $150 pump?

I took apart the entire getup, everything. I found some glass, metal shards and in the bowels of the beast (under the pump motor), some melted plastic (maybe a straw?). I wasn't so sure I would be able to re-assemble everything but it seems as though I did. The pump is pumping for a longer period of time but I think it is just a crappy pump because there is still an inch and a half of standing water in the tub when I try to drain it. Well, I'm off to bed. I will try to look at this again tomorrow with fresh eyes. Thank you for the suggestions!

It's the drain hose. it has a check valve on the inside rubber elbow where it attaches to the washer. This was the problem all along. I replaced it with a hose that doesn't have a valve. Now the dishwasher works great.

I have the same problem. The part you're talking about can be released from under the dishwasher to clean it. has useful diagrams. I cleaned everything but still have the problem which is caused either by the "check balls", the "check valve" or the "pressure check" thing. I still have to figure it out. A good way to know if the system is obstructed is to press the drain button when there is some water left in the bottom.

My kenmore diswasher model 665 15772 - lock button is flashing - dishwasher will not start. Can you help me?

6/3 I bought a Kenmore Ultra Wash dishwasher, Model 665. As many others have posted, my dishwasher also do does not automatically drain, leaving about 3" of water in the bottom of the machine. The only way to pump the water from the machine is to use the Drain/Cancel button, which cancels the cycle, and the dry option, leaving the dishes wet and spotty.

I just contacted a tech rep with Sears Repair and was told this is a Factory Defect with this model. Whirlpool (manufacturer) is aware of the problem and working on a resolution. Meanwhile, Whirlpool (via Sears and K-Mart) offers a free service call to install the "retrofit kit" that should solve the problem.

Even though Sears is aware of this problem, you will be expected to jump through their hoops - did you install a disposal at the same time and knock out the plug (FYI - if the plug is not knocked out, the Drain/Cancel option will not work and the machine will not drain at all). They will also ask if there is anything blocking the drain (FYI - if there is a foreign material block of any kind, the Drain/Cancel option will not work and the machine will not drain.

If this dishwasher (Model 665) does not drain automatically, THIS IS A FACTORY DEFECT. A retrofit kit is available to correct. In the DC Metro area, the wait time for an in home service call is three weeks.

If you have this problem, call Sears 1-800-4MY HOME and schedule a FREE retrofit kit installation

ALSO, call your sales person, and the appliance dept manager, at the store where you purchased the appliance to let them know this product is defective.

Kenmore Elite: Model 66576962K601.

I had exact same issue. I've called Sears Maintenance. They had to change 2 pieces in UI: Timer KUDS02SRB10 and CONSOLE Assy. Cost 360$ pieces 130$ Job Charge 60$ taxes.
Now It works perfectly, but I bought 1100$ 3 years ago... Really expensive to keep it running.

Our dishwasher pools with water and this a.m. there was water all over our hardwood flooring. I drain the water 2 - 3 times a day. We moved in this house with no manual for the dishwasher.

the bosch dishwashers are known for faulty inlet/water fill valves. that is a very real possible problem, however, have a tech out immediately.

you can try a do it yourself approach with the valve. replace the valve with part number BT-425458. (your local parts depot should have it, or try an online store such as "AP Wagner" or "Sears". My shop carries it at our parts department).

*notice; The new valve should have the solenoid coil laying horizontal, the original likely will be vertical. they have a history of failing in the "open" position, letting water in even with the unit "off" I've seen many insurance claims due to this failure, especially in the late 90's early 2k's. I'm sure there are still thousands out there. I should add, other possibilities could be, one being back flow throuh the drain line (hooked to a garberator?).

*If it is only happening when nothing else is in use, i.e. water running in sink, garb. running, including the dishwasher, I'd bet on the valve.

hope that helps,

good luck

p.s. if you provide a model number you should be able to get a manual via a pdf on the b/s/h home site here,

Dishwasher won't drain -it's only 3 months old

Yes they do have a drainage problem! I worked for a Sear install team. You need to have the installer come back out, if they did the install correctly and you still have problems then sears needs to send a service tech out. If they can't fix it or tell you it is a install error then be persistent and tell them you want a BOSH TECH out. You more than likely need a stronger pump as Bosh DW work off a gravity type pump system. Keep in mind Sears installers guarantee there install for 1 year and all products come with a 1yr MF warranty. If you purchased a warranty or PA agreement the you will be entitled to a new unit if that one is not fixable. If you have a garbage disposer, they work best when routed into one.

Installing a dishwasher

If you are replacing an existing dishwasher installation then it is no problem.

If you are putting in a new dish washer where there was not one before then you have to run wiring and plumbing (fresh water and drain).

Get a good one. Here is what Consumer Reports recommends.

Kenmore Ultra Wash Model 665 Dishwasher

Dishwashers which are properly installed and regularly used won't normally have a problem with bad odors. Check the following: ?Was the drain hose brought in at the top of the cabinet, or down near the floor? it must be 34" from the floor. ?Do you run the unit at least once every 2 days? -Run a cycle with a quart of vinegar to clean the tub and pump. ?Does the disposal tend to back up slightly when the dishwasher drains? Drain may be clogged. -Don't use gel detergent! ?Check your water softener(If so equipped) These can cause foul odors in the water supply if not properly balanced or maintained Good luck!
