Load the originals, with the print side up, into the document feeder tray. If you are sending a single-page fax, such as a photograph, you can also load the original on the glass. If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

How do I load a document in my fax Machine

If you are laying your original on a glass, like in a flatbed scanner, you lay it face down.
If your fax works like my printer, the printed surface is on the bottom tray face down. It It gets sucked into the printer under the roller, around the back of the roller and comes out in the upper tray over the roller and face up. You laid the paper face down.

I hope this might help resolve your question.

In order to fax, I just need to know whether to place the paper face-up or face-down.

If it is on the table top then face down. If you are doing it through the auto feed then face up.

No problem, but don't know if the print goes face side up por down into the printer when faxing

Where you put the paper must be a little icon like a page with lines, if you see this put the paper face up. I am surprise you did not check with a fax recipient to see if they got it (Blank paper or the fax)

When sending a fax do i place the paper with the print side up

You place the paper face side up when feeding through the loader on top. You can also scan the fax in placing the paper face side down on the glass plate of the scanner portion.

For faxing from the MFC-290C is it face up or face down?

Try making a copy of something, if it comes out blank, try the other way. The copy and fax functions work the same.

Hope this helps

Faxing

if using the feeder probably face up as it will likely pull the document in and invert it to lay face down on the scanning glass.

if you lift up the feeder (like lifting the top of a copy machine), then it would be face down on the glass.

there should be an image on the feeder illustrating how the document should be placed - if it looks like a page with lines on it with a bent corner then it is face up.
