Ok no problem where going to try this but your going to have trouble in the end...since you only have a cold tap ,,use a y hose to booth vavle dont cap of the hot,,,now you purchase a unit that has atc,,automatic temperature control..meaning the unit control how hot or cold the water will be in degrees,,,when you start the unit it puts hot in at the start even in a cold wash to break down the soap in the dispencer,,it doent know if you use powder or liquid,,so it just shots hot water though for a few second,,now that comes back to the begging,,if you put clothes like whites and that atc does nt sense that hot water the unit will stop until it do,,and you will get a code,,im here onthejob

yeah you need to connect the other hose because the mix valve just below that does not seal one or the other..those switches work with the water pressure..thats why the errror showed up..

My LG front loader is showing an "FE" error. The water seems to continue running into the tub, leaking out the door.

Good morning

I looked this up to make sure I was thinking the right way. The FE means there is too much water in the machine... lol bet you already knew that. Since water is actually coming out of the machine it looks like a bad fill valve. The plastic piece your hot and cold water lines hook into is not shutting off all the way.

I hope this helps

The NF light comes on

The nF error code stands for "No Fill."

If you have just installed your washer and it will not fill, or the display shows nF, check the following:

  • Make sure the door to the unit is tightly closed.
  • Make sure that both the hot and cold water lines are connected (cold to the cold and hot to the hot)
    • Note: If you do not have a hot water source, you can hook up the cold water source to the cold input on the back of the washer and another cold water source to the hot input on the back of the washer (but NEVER a hot water source to the cold water input on the back of the washer).

Sounds like the water inlet valve is faulty. It the part that attaches to the hot and cold water hoses. It really easy to fix, just disconnect the hoses, pull the washer out and remove the back of the washer to get access to the valve. You can find a replacement by going to your local appliance supply house, or online such as www.repairclinic.com.

Hot water will not enter machine. Screen filter is clean. Cold is OK.

There's no hot water Some washing machines allow hot water to enter only during certain cycles. Others intermittently allow hot and cold to enter, to temper the temperature of the water. Consult your owner's manual if you are unsure about whether the machine is acting abnormally. If you're sure the machine isn't working the way it used to--or should--try these tests: Is the hot water turned on? If not, turn it on. Is the washer getting cold water but no hot water? If so, check to see if the control panel settings are correct. Is there hot water coming through the proper hose? If not, check to see if the screen inside the water-inlet valve is clean. (The water-inlet valve is the device on the washing machine that the fill hoses are attached to.) If it's clean, you probably have a defective water-inlet valve. If so, completely replace it.

If the pipes were installed properly, then the hot is on the left, cold on right.

Hook it up that way, then set it on the smallest load possible, with hot water setting only. If you have hot water filling the basin, you have it hooked up properly.

Should the washer be hot after the rinse cycle?

Try cycling a cold/cold wash and see how that comes out.. if it comes out hot then your water inlet valve is letting hot water in when it shouldn't.. conversely, try cycling a hot/hot wash and see that it does indeed come out hot... ( quick tests to verify performance)..hope this helps.
