You must have pulled a connector off under the canel you removes. I'm sure if you take the panel off again you will find the connector and be able to locate where it goes.
Hope this helps. Bud

4TH LIGHT FROM THE TOP KEEPS COMING ON LEXMARK E232

What this light sequence means that the printer has a paper jam.

When a paper jam occurs, the printer stops and the operator panel's Paper Jam light and Continue button lights come on. Press and release Continue twice quickly to display the specific secondary error paper jam light sequence.

How to clear Paper Jam

Press Continue button twice quickly to see the secondary error code.

To get the secondary error codes

When the Error light (!) and Continue button lights are both on, a secondary error has occurred.

When the Paper Jam light (4th light) and Continue button lights are both on, a paper jam secondary error has occurred.

Press and release Continue button twice quickly to display the secondary error code light sequence.

Press Continue button to resume printing once all the jammed pages are cleared from the paper path.

We recommend that you clear the entire paper path when a paper jam occurs.

To clear a paper jam:

1 If you are feeding paper from a tray, remove the tray, and then remove any jams.

2 Open the front cover and remove the print cartridge assembly.

NOTE: Do not leave the print cartridge assembly exposed to direct light for an Extended period of time. Extended light exposure can cause print quality problems.

3 Remove any jams in the area behind the print cartridge assembly.

4 Lift the flap at the front of the printer and remove any jams beneath the flap.

5 Open the rear exit and remove any jams.

6 After you have cleared the jams, reinstall the print cartridge assembly, make sure all printer covers and trays are closed, and then press Continue button to resume printing.

NOTE: The printer reprints the pages that caused the paper jam.

Paper keeps getting jammed .

hi, and how are you today, well follow the following instructions to solve the problem.
  • Protect yourself from shock. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the Canon Inkjet Printer. This is an important step when working inside ANY electronic device.
  • 2 Unhinge the back access panel of the printer. It seems repetitive to say this, but this door will be in the BACK of the printer.
  • 3 Look through the opened back panel and look for paper. Remove any and all paper you find jammed there.
  • 4 Close the back access panel. Make sure that it latches into place and looks the same way that it did before you opened it.
  • 5 Find the front or top access panel. This is the panel you would lift to change ink cartridges. Open this access panel. If the carriage that holds the ink cartridges moves, then you forgot to unplug the printer, go back and do that now. Look for paper that may be jammed in this area of the printer.
  • 6 Remove any paper you find jammed here. When pulling from the front there will be resistance from the paper feeder. Pull slowly or the paper will rip and create a more stressful problem.
  • 7 Close the front access panel. Make sure that it falls or latches back in place. It should look the same way that it did before you opened it.
  • 8 Plug the printer's power cord into the wall outlet, and attempt to print again. If the printer prints the job, then you have successfully removed the paper jam.

Print engine jam - no paper in jam but still says jammed

When printers report "paper jam" for any reason, you must follow certain procedure before the printer will respond again. So just follow this procedure and your printer should respond again.

    i. Put off the printer and unplug it from its power source.

ii. Open all the covers/shutters on the printer (usually you will find one in the front or top and one at the back of the printer).

iii. Now pull out the cartridge (if laser jet) carefully and place it on safe surface. (Be careful not to place it where it may slide and fall. This could damage the cartridge)

    v. Return the cartridge gently and press it firmly inside so that you here it snap inside. (if laser jet)

vi. Close all covers at the top, front or back.

vii. Power on your printer and you should be able to print again.

(If it is a deskjet you simply need to open the covers, put it off, power it on again after restarting your PC.)

    Good luck & God bless!

Paper was jammed, it split. We went through back of HP Officejet7310 to remove paper. After we removed it three lights came on and kept coming on without stop constantly. Auto Answer, Exclamation, and...

    FLOWO THE STEPS

    1. 1
Switch off the printer and disconnect the power supply. Allow any residual charge to fade away before putting your hands or metal tools inside the chassis.
    2. Step 2
Pin down the exact location of the jam. The three hot spots for a jam are the paper tray, anywhere between the feed tray and the print carriage, or between the print carriage and the output tray.
    3. Step 3
Take off the front paper tray if the sheet got stuck while it was still in the front area of the printer. If the sheet jammed here, you should be able to see most of the paper.
    4. Step 4
Pull on the sheet with both hands and steady pressure. Do not tug as you might rip the paper, leaving a chunk of it deeper in the machine.
    5. Step 5
Open the back panel to reach paper jammed between the feed tray area and the print carriage of the all-in-one printer. Carefully remove the jammed paper from the machine.
    6. Step 6
Use the carriage access door to reach a jam further inside the all-in-one printer. You may need to move the print carriage out of your way to clear the jam.
    7. Step 7
Return any access panels to their closed and locked positions. Plug your printer back in and flip the power switch.

Try adjusting your paper tray. If you have the tray that adjusts from legal to letter it sometimes gets wiggled to some place inbetween. Just push it back into the letter position.

Some of the Ink Jets have a cover in the back of the printer that you have to turn a lock to remove and you could have some paper stuck back there.
