It really depends on the program you want to remove. If it is something you don't use anymore, then it will be just fine to remove. Be careful not to remove your anti-virus or software that contains drivers ie. display driver software

SOURCE: Files have removed not deleted to a unknown location

There is no reason why this should happen when removing a program or software.

Have you tried a system restore?
It doesn't normally retrieve missing files but as it is files specifically related to a program it may work.

Backup everything you want first, e.g copy my documents etc to an external drive

Start --> All programs --> Accessories --> System Tools --> System Restore

Click Restore my computer to an earlier date

Select a date in bold before the date when you removed the software

Click Next , next

Leave the pc to restore, power plugged in

You can always undo this restore later

If problems, please post results and I will help

Error messages etc.

Thanks

Ok, here's the solution.
My computer is running on Xp-SP3.
Go to "Add or Remove Programs",

select the Windows Media Player and click "Remove" -
Don't worry!!!!
Windows Media player won't be deleted, just downgraded to a previous version,
stay within the "Add or Remove Programs" list
Select "Windows Media Format 11 runtime" and click "Remove",
confirm and then restart your PC.
Download the OVI-Suite from the Web Page (do not use the CD) and install OVI-Suite.
Install also the OVI-Player from the Web Page.

Open OVI-Player, connect your phone and try to move a mp3 file directly into the phone's directory - then update your phone's music library

You should always remove and uninstall programs from your PC that you are not using. It could be beneficial to your computer's productivity and functioning to free up space. You run the risk of running out of space on your computer if you add too many programs without uninstalling some. It is a relatively easy process, but you should be sure you are not removing a program that is necessary to the operation of your computer.

Click "Start" and select "Programs." Click "Control Panel" and "Programs" and "Programs and Features." Browse the list of programs on your computer and select one that you want to remove. Click "Uninstall." You may be prompted for permission from the administrator to remove the program. Enter the administrator password or confirmation if necessary. Check the properties of the program if it is not listed in "Programs." You can do this by right-clicking on the program desktop icon and selecting "Properties." Check to see if the program is compatible with the version of Windows that you are using. Click "Start" and "Run," to manually remove the programs if the uninstall option does not completely uninstall the program. Type "Regedt32" in the box and click "OK." Locate the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall" registry key and click "Export" under the "File" tab. Click "Desktop" on the "Export Registry File" dialog box. Type "Uninstall" in the "File Name" box and select "Save." The left panel of the Registry Editor will display the programs that are currently installed. Right-click the key in the left panel of the Registry Editor window. Click "Delete." Click "Yes" when you are asked to confirm deletion of the program. Click the "File" menu and select "Exit." This will exit the Registry Editor. Click "Start" and "Control Panel" and click "Add or Remove Programs." Confirm that the program is no longer listed here. and you might have other web search toolbars interfering

Create the menu tab on your homepage right click in the top toolbar you should see a number of toolbar options select the menu tab which will add File Edit View Favorites Tools and Help Click on the tools at the bottom of the drop down list will be internet options or Click start control panel internet options you will see a home page box To Create Page Tabs type each adress on its own line (type in google.com) or your preferred home page and browser below that will be change search defaults click on settings you will see all search Providers Toolbar extensions and Accelerators you have have if don't need any of them you can disable or remove them

also b> http://download.cnet.com/jetclean/3000-18512_4-75627788.html JetClean tidies your registry, gets rid of junk files, deletes broken shortcuts, and attempts to give your computer that like-new feel again. Then delete cookies Here is a very simple guide on how to delete cookies manually from your computer.

Click on "tools" in your browser. This is usually located in the upper right corner of your browser. Click on Internet options. This will appear in the drop down box and is usually at the bottom. Under the "General" tab look for "Browsing History." Under this heading you can click "Delete" to have the computer delete all cookies for you automatically however to delete the cookies manually click on the "Settings" tab Click on the "View Files" tab under the "Temporary Internet Files and History Settings" box that pops up. When you do a second box will pop up with a list of cookie containing files. This may take a few seconds to load so be patient while waiting for the cookie files to load. Highlight any cookie file that you would like to delete. You can highlight more than one at a time by holding down the 'Ctrl" button on your keypad Delete the files that are highlighted by clicking on the "delete this item" located to the left in the same box. As soon as you do you will see the selected files disappear. When you are done just "X" off; this completes your task of manually deleting cookies. You might also do a disk clean up click start click on computer to open right click on your hard drive usually C: select properties in the general tab select disk clean up click ok you can view files to be deleted.

How do I delete Weatherblink from my computer? I tried add/remove programs but even though it is listed add/remove says they cannot find the program.

If you perform a search via the start menu for the files associated with this program, any files renaming will show up there. You can delete each file when they come up and this should fully remove the program.

Remove programs that no longer useful to you and delete documents, pictures any file that you don't need anymore.
if you don't have nothing to do with removing programs and deleting files, you have to upgrade or add a secondary hard drive, or a external drive will be a helpful to you, move all your files to your external drive this will also counted as your backup files.

Delete from add delete at control panel

The only way to modify the add/remove programs list is to edit the registry. If you are uncomfortable doing this, get someone to help who is, or just leave the registry alone.
It's best to back up the registry in case you make a mistake.
To back up your registry, see this article.

On to the fun part. Follow these instructions exactly. Note: this applies to Windows XP only. If you have Windows Vista, please modify the question.
  1. Click Start, and then click Run.
  2. In the Open box, type regedt32, and then click OK.
  3. In Registry Editor, locate the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
  4. In the left pane, click the Uninstall registry key, and then click Export on the File menu.
  5. In the Export Registry File dialog box that appears, click Desktop in the Save in list, type uninstall in the File name box, and then click Save.
  6. Each key listed under Uninstall in the left pane of Registry Editor represents a program that is displayed in the Currently installed programs list of the Add or Remove Programs tool. To determine which program that each key represents, click the key, and then view the following values in the details pane on the right: DisplayName: The value data for the DisplayName key is the name that is listed in Add or Remove Programs.

    -and-

UninstallString: The value data for the UninstallString key is the program that is used to uninstall the program.
  7. After you identify the registry key that represents the program that you removed but which is still displayed in the Currently installed programs list of Add or Remove Programs, right-click the key in the left pane of the Registry Editor window, and then click Delete.

Click Yes in response to the "Are you sure you want to delete this key and all of its subkeys?" message.
  8. On the File menu, click Exit to quit Registry Editor.
  9. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Add or Remove Programs.

In the Currently installed programs list, verify that the program whose registry key you deleted is no longer listed.
  10. Do one of the following:
    • If the program list is not correct in Add or Remove Programs, double-click the Uninstall.reg file that you saved to your desktop in step 5 to restore the original list of programs in the registry.

      -or-
    • If the program list is correct in Add or Remove Programs, right-click the Uninstall.reg file on your desktop, and then click Delete.
