Rudd furnace I have a RUDD furnace model UGPJ-07-NAMGR. It had stopped working, so I replaced the thermostat but it is not the thermostat. When I hold the furnace reset button, the furnace will fire according to the setting on thermostat(heat or fan). As soon as I let go of the reset button, the heater stops working. It does not matter what I do to the thernostat, the heater will not fire. I crossed the red and white wire but nothing happens. The heater is supposed to fire when I cross wire, right? Thank You, David

Yes! when I connect them (red and white wire) together and let them connect for a minute, the furnace does not start.

Usually, when I turn thermostat up for heat, I hear "Click" and heater starts.

    Thank you!

When you cross white, you are basically just bypassing the T-stat.

Please describe for me exactly what you are reffering to as the "furnace reset button" and where is it located?

When you cross is that meaning jump between them? R and W or red and white.

You have a safety limit switch that is either bad or needs to be manually reset. Some have little buttons between the two wires going to the switch that you can push to reset. If not they are automatic switchs then one is bad. You have to do an ohms test to see if each switch is bad or good.

Rudd thermostat says battery power

Most new digital thermostats are design to run with battery or A/C power, unless the A/C power is connected to the thermostat via a connection to the common "C" connection to the furnace common the thermostat defaults to battery operation and that is normal. Batterys last from 3 to 5 years in the average thermostat.

2 Rheem Protech 500 thermostats, 1 upstair & 1 downstairs with a Rudd Achiever 90Plus gas furnace. Thermostat downstairs works fine but upstairs one cycles fan on and off 2-3 times during heating...

Have you checked to make sure that all of the supply registers are open, the air filter is clean and nothing is blocking the return air grill?
It almost sounds like you could be cycling on a limit switch.
Usually on gas furnaces, the blower is controled by the onboard controls, in the cooling mode the thermostat will control the blower.
I would be looking past the thermostat, at the furnace it self.
I hope you find this helpful. If you continue to experience problems, please let us know and we will dig deeper. :)

I have a rudd hot air gas furnace, ignitor sparks

to carmelmontgo; do you have a smart gas valve sometimes the wire connections get loose. remove wire connector then reinstall. also cleaning a flame sensor will work if the flame sensor is good. I would check the ground connection sometimes contaminated with rust. also I would check the gas pressure with a gas manometer...my email is alpharomeo@windstream.net

We have a Rudd acheive 90 plus (11 years old) that fires but will not stay running. Any suggestions?

I have not worked on any Rudd 90s but in some furnaces a flame sensor on the opposite side from the igniter can get dirty. It looks like a 0.08 " wire sticking out of a ceramic holder.Cleaning the wire with scotchbright will often cure the problem . Good luck

Schematic diagram Rudd silouette II a/c gas furnace needed

There should be a small set of screw lugs on the electronic board in the furnace. Look for a red wire that comes out of the transformer and follow it to find where the 24V connections are.

I recently bought a 4 ton 14.5 SEER Rudd Spilt system using R-410 and matching Rudd furnace. This system replaced a Lennox 10 SEER 4 ton unit. Now that it has gotten hot in Baton Rouge LA 90-93 degrees....

Sounds like the Unit might be low on charge. But without correct readings not sure.
The new unit with 410 will actually cool better due to higher boiling point temp. of freon type.Poor air circulation could also cause problem.Such as dirty filter, too slow fan speed, dirty coil. Also could have obstruction in freon lines either at pump,in line set,or in coil.
Get someone u trust to check it out and ask for their Rudd Dealership Training Credentials.

Check your filters inside the furnace, replace if needed. Then check to ensure that the fan is running inside the furnace. If these two things dont fix the problems, I would imagine you have low refrigerant issues. In that case you should call a service company.

Hope this helps ya please rate me.
