SOURCE: how can i clean the hose of my bissell spot bot?

Well... it's sub optimal but this is what I did, run hot water into the sink, add a few table spoons of bleach and run the hose along the edge of the water to slowly **** it into the hose (the tank fills very rapidly and the auto shut off will activate). You will want to run 4 or 5 tanks of waste to get the bulk of the gunk along the walls out and this will also get rid of the serratia growing (red stuff). If you dangle the hose in a u down the front of the sink and shut off the machine you can catch about a pint of water and bleach solution in the hose and roll it around inside the hose then let it sit for awhile and finish by sucking it into the waste tank, not perfect but my hose is much cleaner.

SOURCE: Need to clean hose.

I filled a bowl with hot bleach water and sucked the water up. It cleaned the hose pretty well (along with the gunk that was stuck in the hand wand). Mine was filthy. It looked like it had mold growing in it. Then I ran several rounds of hot water through the hose. I alternated hot water & bleach. Did this about 8 times. It is not perfect, but it sure does look a lot better. 90% of the gunk is gone.

SOURCE: clogged spot bot

There is a very small, white water filter (approx. 3/8" in diameter/ 1/8" thick) inside the "seat" where the solution tank connects to the machine itself. Could very well be your problem if you are in a city environment, or any other situation where hard water is present. This is a very easy fix; discovered it when my wife experienced the exact same problem.

1) Make sure other causes have been eliminated, such as clogged nozzles, etc. (Refer to owners manual.)

2) Ensure that the solution tank is indeed seating properly with the machine, (a few small bubbles rise from the connection once made.)

3) Remove solution tank. With needle nose pliers or a very small screwdriver, GENTLY remove the white filter from the black, movable "seat" connection on the machine.

4) Run the machine on manual (without the filter) to determine if this is indeed your problem. (Don't run for an extended period of time this way if this actually is your problem. The filter is there for a reason!)

5) Simply wash the filter gently between thumb and fore-finger. Vinegar may be used, but simple tap water works as well. If clogged, you should feel grainy, hard water type scale/ lyme build-up when cleaning the filter.

6) Recycle the original filter or replace if necessary. (It would be very easy to make a new one without going through the hassle of dealing with OEM parts or Bissell. Just go to your local hardware store and they should be able to help you out with no problem.)

Voila! Spotbot works again.

Hope this helps!

SOURCE: The hose on my spot bot has torn

I called one of the local service centres to order one 2 months ago, still haven't heard back. Last weekend was our city's curb giveaway weekend and I got a busted Bissell Pro Heat 2X Turbo which I removed the hose from. You can order them online, just not from Bissell directly.
Cut the old hose off, you won't need it.
You have to disassemble the unit mostly. Several screws on the bottom, several under the collection tank, etc... The tubing is held together with Brass tubing clamps, they're not glued. The inner hose needs to run inside, through to the outer channel underneath the 90degree bend that the outer hose plugs into and will connect to a T shaped 3 way hose connector. My hose was wider and needed the holes to be widened. If you have to use the same outer hose connector, the coiled hose will twist in, once you remove the old hose but the new hose will need to be siliconed or glued with something that will seal it.
My new salvaged hose had the handle on it already.
It's not a pleasant procedure, have a shower after because you may get sprayed.
That being said, this process is doable, but it isn't a 5 minute fix. It took about 40 minutes all and all.

Hey, the mold ring is showing the carpet is now clean in comparison to the rest of the room.

Leaving bigger dirtier wet spots after cleaning

Sounds like the vacuum motor is defective or you have a clog in the vaccum line. Basically everything is running except the vacuum "Suction" cycle. Do you hear the "Suction" phase (light indicator) during operation when it loudens like a whine? That would be the vacuum phase. Is the dirty water reservoir clean, do you rinse it thoroughly when you empty it? Have you removed the hose assy and rinsed it out? I think it is still part of the auto cycle even if you don't use the manual tool.

The cleaning solution on my bissell spot bot is not being pumped through....on the stationary mode or the manuel hand held mode with the brush attachment

I had the same problem, and found that the culprit was that the small filter element. about the size of a dime, that sits arount the nozzle activator (pin that depresses the clean water nozzel) was clogged with "gunk", and prevented cleaning solution from flowing into the unit.. It is easy to remove with a pair of tweezers or needle nose pliars.. rise it under water and reseat in the unit. You shoudl be aboe to perform the whole process in under a minute. This has happend to me several times... and am surprised the filter is not mentioned in the manual.

Bissell spot bot

Per the manual, periodically you should clean the rubber lining in the dirty water tank(it comes out). I found mine a little dirty, but after cleaning it, it solved my 'all lights flashing' problem.

I have a feeling is this the solution for most people whose manual mode works fine but, automatic mode stops with lights a' flashing. Why manual still works though is a mystery to me. You'd think all modes wouldn't work then.
