SOURCE: can anyone supply a wiring

Looking at http://www.smeg-service.co.uk/support/index.php I have come to the conclusion that the best wat to have this problem resolved is to post it to the help forum or hire an engineer. Smeg has locked down any drawings. Take some pics and draw the wires and you might get someone to figure it out for you. Always remember that the company certified technicians can fix it the right way the first time ;)
Good luck.

How to lift a2 smeg cooker hob

remove cast iron pot stands and pull off all knobs and small timer buttons. lower the oven doors and look up under the panel holding the knobs and you'll see a screw at each end, remove them. you can now remove the stainless switch panel, (swing the bottom out first) you can now get access to screws at each top corner which should be removed. you can now lift the top panel of the cooker by about 5 inches when a pivoted stay should drop down each side to allow you to rest the top in an open position.

My wife was cleaning our smeg. She removed element at top of oven and she said it "arked". Now light inside oven and oven itself doesnt work?

Your oven should be wired to a dedicated electrical switch, in your meter box. It has probably just tripped this switch and fused the globe.
remove the globe cover(quater turn anti-clockwise) and globe and reset switch. Of course you need also to set the digital clock, or oven will not work.

My smeg oven,(bottom fan oven) keeps getting hotter and hotter till it cuts out or the fuse blows when i switch it on no matter what temp i put it on,iam assuming its the thermostat, were is it and how yo...

The thermostat is obviously not working and you will need to replace it.

The thermostat is located behind the temperature selector switch on the control panel. The oven thermostat usually has a capilliary tube attached which goes in to the oven internally and is fixed on to the oven wall you will need to disconnect this also and remove it with the thermostat. Fitting the stat is the reverse of removal.

Make sure the electrical supply to the oven is switched off before starting work Hope this will FixYa.

Please remember to rate this solution.

Smeg A2 - Oven gets too hot

is there a heat probe inside the oven? sound like you owen is overheating. i would check the TOD, if the oven has one. this thermostat regulates the temperature and if it's "open" it needs to be replaced.

Smeg Oven electric burning smell

My Smeg cooker worked fine for 5 years. Then I noticed that the fan which stays on after you turn off the oven did not ever turn off, unless you switched the oven off at the fuse box. I think this is a fan that cools the oven down, but some bit of it is now broken because it doesn't realise that the oven has cooled down. It smells funny when you first turn it on, so I don't know if that is an electrical fault smell. Model possibly 70cm A420-5, but could be an earlier model (bought in April 2000). Is double oven with 4 rings on top, 70cm wide.
