Question about Delta Woodworking Delta Rockwell 14 Inch Wood/metal Band Saw Manual

1 Answer

Where can I get a 12V manual reset relay which requires reset after a power failure during the on setting?

I'm upgrading (safety-grandkid use) a Delta "Q3" scroll saw by using a 12V battery source with the saws blade integrated in the circuit to a relay controlling 110V line power to the saw so that a broken blade will shut off the saw. To complete the safety function (preventing automatic restart when a new blade is being inserted in the blade clamps- if the relay switch is left on) I need a 12V manual reset relay so the saw will not restart after a broken blade unless the operator actuates a restart button/switch. What is a commonly available (simplest) device to do this?

Get an ordinary 12v single pole relay. Connect your 12v battery source to one side of the coil (-) and one of the contacts (+). Then connect the other side of the coil (+) to the other contact, and your output cable across the coil. Of course, nothing happens until you connect a pushbutton switch ACROSS the two open contacts. When you make that switch, you power the relay, and it stays powered when the contacts close. It's called a "seal-in" relay. When you interrupt the battery power, the relay falls out and won't pull in again until you hit the reset switch.

SOURCE: manual or info on a rockwell 28380 14" band saw

I can't find one for the exact model number you have, but there are a lot of manuals for the same era bandsaws available as PDF downloads at this site. Perhaps another manual for a similar machine will help answer most of your questions, in lieu of the correct one...
Have a look around there, though, at both the Delta and Rockwell listings, as I just made a quick look to find yours and there might be something there somewhere.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.

SOURCE: I need a manual for an old Sears Band Saw Model #534.01120

Does it look like this? Unfortunately, they don't have a manual that I could find. But you might like to post your request in the forums there, as they get some traffic from aficionados of old tools with wile and know how.
It might help you also to google Dunlap & PowerKing for the manual.
As far as tuning it up goes...
Check each of the wheels' "bearings" to begin with, to ensure they are running smoothly and as true as possible, without end play or wobble. Then use straightedges and flat jointed boards to line up the three pulleys as much in a single flat plane as possible, by shifting shims, etc. (It may behoove you to remove the table out of the picture to begin with, if possible, so you can get the wheels lined up well with one another, then replace the table once the blade will track.)
The adjustments on a three wheel system can be a little more delicate and temperamental than on a standard 14" bandsaw, so be moderate in your tracking adjustments, and crank the wheels by hand to begin with as you work the tension up on the blade, checking constantly to keep the blade running as close to the center of all three tires as possible. Don't worry about the blade guides at all until you get the blade running on the wheels well. Then move the backed off guide blocks and backing bearings into place. They are meant, after all, to keep the blade from deflecting, not to force it into position.
That's my quick advice for how to tune it up.
Good luck. It looks like a beaut!

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.

Try this. Right out of the manual. The reset button is the little pin hole next to the power. Will need a paper clip that is straightened.

No 12v output from aux terminals on a vfx 3648

Pretty sure it won't provide current to start anything. Just provides 12vdc at a low current to pull a relay in.
Manual say it is auto reset on the aux terminals for the generator start relay. 0.7 amps max.

If you still don't have the voltage there at the correct time (when called for), you unit is bad or has a fuse they don't mention in the manual. Remember!! This is a called for function so the voltage will not be there all the time, just when required as per the programming.

Location of the fuel pump reset and how to fix it?

There is no fuel pump "reset"(that's a Ford thing). You could have a bad relay,a broken wire or something else. The easiest place to diagnose is from the fuel pump relay socket. You can verify the high current 12v feed, the 12v ignition feed, the switched ground from the PCM,and ohms to ground to the pump from this single location. You will probably save time by trying another relay first(borrow the AC compressor relay from its socket-same part!).

Open following link for Utilitec timer manual:
http://waterheatertimer.org/Program-wire-Utilitec-LW60418.html

This timer should have a back-up capacitor so that programming is kept in memory during power outage.
Power outage is known cause of timer failure. When power turns on, the surge knocks out electronics.
People writing to fixya report electronic timers and electronic water heater controls stop working after power outage. Probably many other electronic devices are affected too, but that would be out of my specialty.
Troubleshoot says 'in case of operational failure, press reset button to clear all settings and restart.'
If timer has failed, buy another from Lowes and return defect in new package.

Take a moment and rate answer:
And take advantage of fixya expert assistance live.
For a price, expert works with you while you work on timer or any do-it-yourself project.
Fixya is always less expensive than a service call.

Check the small wire going to the starter relay. It should have 12V when the ignition is in the start position. If it doesn't, you either have a bad igntion switch or a wiring problem from the switch to the relay. If you don't have a volt meter, you can use a 12V test light. Let me know if you need more help.

i have diagram for accord 1993, i cant see the breaker you mentioned, if your relay is ok, its mean that fuse #15 have power 12V and when the ignition is on, the relay have supply 12V to fuse #33, if all this ok, the problm is on your power window main switch, connect a wire supply by 12V to white/yellow wire at power window main switch or test this wire if already have 12V when ignition is on

I have a 2000 Jeep Cherokee sport and it just won't turn over. It has full power inside and a brand new battery.

You need to begin testing at the battery using a volt meter. Power requirement of interior is far lower than the starter needs. Check battery for 12v, check that posts & terminals are clean and secure, Check starter relay in the power distribution center, make sure grounds are good at the engine end. Check for 12v at the starter main terminal and 12v at the starter trigger wire with the key in the start position. (if you have both, likely starter has failed,) if power only at main terminal, re-check relay, and also test neutral safety switch and ignition switch. If no power at main terminal go back to the battery and re-test everything between again.

Toaster oven just stopped working...

With mine, the toaster function stopped working. The light lit, but the relay did not click. This happened about a year ago, but then it started working again. Now that my waranty expired, it seems permanent.

The relay requires 12V, but I only measure 5V (no audible click). When I pulled the relay, the drive went up to 12V, so the coil is loading down the source. Not sure whether the problem is the coil or the source. It would be nice to find a schematic. When I put the relay across a car battery, I heard the click indicating that the relay is working.

I cleaned the contacts, and get the same result.
