Question about Computers & Internet
Hi, I have recently purchased this monitor with built in speakers but cannot get them to work. I am using the HDMI cable with an adaptor to connect the monitor, as I've read so far this could be an issue as the HDMI cable can also carry sound. Though in this case the sound would not be coming from the video card port (this is the case with people trying to hook up to PS3/Xbox). If anyone can help I would be very appreciative.
1. What adaptor are you using?
2. hdmi carries both audio and video signal
3. If your using an old dvi to hdmi cable the old dvi cables do not have the 4 extra pins for sound.
SO..... best bet is to hit best buy up for a new dvi to hdmi cable.

Dude, the hdmi is just for the video signal, you'll have to use a separate audio cable to get sound from the integrated speakers.
