a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: my new hp w2207h monitor,
Go to - CONTROL PANEL - DEVICE MANAGER then find monitors in the list, right click the desired device, then PROPERTIES this will tell you if the device is working properly. then click update drivers. If this fails check your screen resolution settings. The safest thing is to set it to default.Sometimes the graphics card isnt big enough for the monitor so try tweaking visual settings like shadows and fonts. Things like message box outlines and shadows can be turned off too speed the image up.If your using vista your probably using the default theme AERO/GLASS. Change it to a normal theme of your choice but dont use GLASS. this uses quite alot of graphics power.

what operating system did you replace XP 32bit, XP 64bit? Was the version of Vista you used the 32bit or the 64bit. You may need to go to HP.Com and look for replacement drivers for the DVD. You can also use the windows update to obtain correct drivers for the DVD if they have tested them already. Another option is to go to the manufacturer of the DVD device and see what they list for the driver. Just remember there is a big differance between the 32bit and 64bit drivers. Read on the Vista system you installed and see what level was installed in your system. Regards, rcampsr

To restore to factory settings when you hit the start button the firstscreen that appears has the HP Symbol in the center of the screen. Whenthis appears hit the F11 key. Then follow the on screen instructions. It will offer you to either restore to last saved point or to restoreto factory settings. Code "purple" means you and your computer are done. It is an unrecoverable error that means you need a new system. However, I have found a couple of postings that claim to know a fix. I can not verify these methods, I do not own a HP or other type of prefab PC (custom is the only way to go). Anyway, here are the links, good luck.

obtain the driver from cd/dvd that was included as you purchased your desktop and try to check if the driver supports with the operating system you are using now. for example the driver available in your cd/dvd is only for windows xp and your operating system you are using now is windows vista of course driver not installed. try to download from internet the driver that are suite to your unit model and current operating system this can fixed your problem or else downgrade your os tha can support the driver that are available from your cd/dvd.
