Question about Televison & Video
I have a sony tv, that was working fine, and that was repaired before about 4 years ago's for the same problem. When you push the button the set does not go on. Before the tv place replaced something with the power, but I don't remember what. Anyone know what I could check?
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.

Undoutably the SMPSU (Switched Mode Power Supply) is faulty.. This will be a shop job... ensure you get a firm "Quote" and explanation B4 allowing it to be fixed.

Check the screen in a totally dark room.
If you see no sign of flashing or illumination from the screen, it is likely that the high voltage section has failed.
Worse yet, if the CRT filiment has failed, the Trinitron tube is quite costly and I don't think anyone is rebuilding them any more.
In either case, parts and labor will probably total more than the replacement cost unless you have a friend who will do the diagnosis and repair for you.
Along with your set, my whole profession is obsolete!
