I have a Utilitech Self-Adjusting Wall Timer- #0192773 that will not hold it's program. It worked fine and then I had a power outage after replacing the standard bulbs with CFL bulbs. Now I set the...

Manual for this timer says to reset timer when encountering a problem.
Just press reset button for 3-4 seconds, and then re-program timer using instructions on following page.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Program-wire-Utilitec-0192773.html

I have tested this timer, and it is a good timer with typically difficult programming because of Astro option, but all these in-wall timers have 1 year limited warranty.
You can buy another one at Lowes, and then return defective one in new package if necessary.

Below are links to digital timers to help identify your timer.
Manuals for each timer appear on page.
Programming takes patience, which might be why your customer wants you to do it.
And these 1-year warranty timers go bad, and then timer will not reprogram, which may be another reason why customer wants you to do it.
Intermatic EJ500 and ST01C are battery operated, and will not program if battery is low.
Aube has rechargeable battery that is not replaceable, and this timer will not program if battery is bad.
Other timers shown below have clocks that operate on 120V circuit and require white neutral before display lights up.

Generally each programming is same: You set current time. Some timers you set daylight savings time. Some timers are 7-day, and some offer dusk-to-dawn. For 7-day, you set event1 ON and then event1 OFF for up to 7 programs. You choose the days for each event to operate. Before programming, make a schedule so there are no overlaps or conflicts in programming.
With Intermatic EJ500 and ST01C, event1 is the ON event and event2 is the OFF event, up to 40 events.

Add a comment if you hit trouble spot when programming.
Also fixya offers live phone support for a price.

Utilitec makes 2 different plug-in timers.

Hold down ON button.
Press MIN until ON minute displays.

Utilitec 0192773 is also listed as LW60419
1) Has optional daylight savings plus dawn to dusk programming

I want to reprogram my timer to a new on time, and off time. do i have to clear the existing program, and start from scratch? if yes, do i use 6a an on/off program at specific times. next question: ...

To reprogram times, it might be easier to clear all programs. Read the manual. Sometimes you have to read it several times. Or scan it into computer so you can see print larger. Or go to manufacturer website and download manual. Some manuals are impossible to find, some have unclear instructions.

For programming help. Post brand and model number of timer so product is identified. Some products have nearly identical numbers but are very different. It's a zoo of products. So be specific.

Timers generally repeat 1 week or 1 day. Do you have a in-wall timer? Or box-type timer

Intermatic in-wall EJ500, ST01C, EI600 offer Daylight Savings & Dusk to Dawn operations. EI600 has 5 year warranty. Other two have 1 year warranty.
