Question about Sony Dvp-Fx740dtb Portable Dvd Player Sony
It has been charging for several hours/days. I found the HOLD turned on and once I turned that off, it still won't turn on.
The power system has been interfered with,i won't use a complicated language but i need you to try and use an adapter,if it doesn't work it means the transformer has a problem or it has failed completely and it needs replacement

Sony has designed this player so it cannot have the region code changed, it is hard wired into the board as part of their copy protection scheme.
Most users have rated this player as 'junk' (sorry to be the bearer of bad news) and should be replaced.
Maybe you can sell it on Ebay.
My suggestion is that the less expensive the player the better off you will be in the long run as the cheaper brands and models use DVD drives meant for PCs and Macs. More expensive models have proprietary drives, such as Sony, and cannot be manipulated and are not very versatile in recording media and or playing copyright hacked copies of DVDs even if you own the original DVD but has been scratched.
The courts are still trying to figure out these protection measures as they are not fair use in terms of you the owner of a DVD and wanting to make your own backup copy for the kids to use.

4) Press 9 on key pad and then enter or Nav Ctr button
5) Press CLEAR to exit
For the iLUV Portable media player, try these steps: 1. Open DVD drive
2. With the remote control type 1 3 6 9
3. After two seconds push "0" for multizone
4. Turn the player off.
5. Turn on and enjoy! There are no indicators for this but it works.
