SOURCE: Camera is on but LCD screen and viewfinder are both black

Quite often, the ribbon cables lose their connection and need to be re-seated. If you're brave enough and have the dexterity and enthusiasm for such things, pull it apart, noting which screws go where and disconnect and reconnect the ribbon cables from the lens unit. It's worked for me in the past.

SOURCE: Camera Shutting Down

Did this for the same problem on the PowerShot A570 IS and it worked wonderfully (thanks to other poster): For the PowerShot A 430: Take out the batteries, then hold down the power button for 30 seconds or more, then reinstall the batteries. Problem solved!

I can not find the video I recorded.

Just make another picture with EZ Grabber and notice the location of where that "grab" is going to be saved. After you save that image(which you should name your name, so you can find it easier) to the location, you can use the Windows Manager to locate some of the last screen shots you saved. You can moved them to the Desktop and decide where your wan them stored.

How do you edit with the ez grabber vc500

Hi
I give below a link to the EZ Grabber installation manual.
http://www.derbymagic.com/files/EZGrabber_manual.pdf
I have been through this but can find nothing to indicate an "edit" facility.
I then tried this link
http://www.dmmdownload.com/downloads/CURRENT/PVR/Diamond%20VC500CXT%20Walkthrough%20Response.txt
which clearly indicates an edit facility via some Arcsoft software which presumably is supposed to come with the grabber.
It is possible that one of the "software utilities" on the webpage (link below) may contain the software required.

I hear the sound but only see a blue screen on computer vhs hooked up to? it was working other day?

Software maybe became corrupted a disk drive where your storing files may be getting to full. I would check those two things out first. Burn what you have now and dump the files stop doing the crossover for now unplug ,machine and reboot computer to see if this is a computer issue if it continues delete the Easy Grabber software and re-download it again. Make sure drive where storing is fine. When I do this sort of thing I use an external drive that will not affect my main computer instead of a direct to C:\ process this is just a good idea in my humble opinion. Hopefully you will be able to load Windows back up once everything else is checked out. John

Ez grabber i hear vhs thru computer but only see blue screen

The video head is dirty or there is a compatability issue with the vcr to the computer. Buy T120 blank tape, set vcr tape speed to sp, put blank tape in the machine and press the play button and let play right through, repeat if no change, if after the second run there is no improvement, check the video cable connection from vcr to computer, if okay! maybe compatability issue.

I have an EZ Grabber Item No: A07JR. Trying to get VHS film played on a Sharp VC-MH815 6xHead/Nicam/Hi-Fi Stereo Player Recorder. Useing video composite from the player to USB attached to a Toshiba...

This is a solution, probably resolve your problems as well, for converting VHS to DVD, its a tip I posted some time ago, might help you out:-

There appears to be quite a few problems with people trying to convert their video tapes to DVD using a PC and propriety converters, editing programmes etc.

Friends have also has such issues, lip synch being one of the most prolific.

I've successfully converted mine, without too much issue and managed to avoid these issues.

I hook up my VHS recorder with a DVD recorder2_bing.gif which also has a HDD. Daisy chaining it on to a TV to monitor. All with scart leads.

Play the tape, record to the DVD hard drive. Finally edit and dub to DVD.

Have fun ..............

Ez grabber only records for about 2 to 3 minuits even though there is a 1 hour tape in the Hi8 camcorder but still carries on in the preview window. Sound & vision are ok. I have changed all settings...

I had the same problem when I upgraded my computer and had Windows 7. I noticed that it was only recording from when I had nudged the mouse, so Iwas losing most of the programme I was trying to record. I solved it by going into the Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Power Options choosing Balanced Plan and selecting Change Plan Settings and changing the Put the computer to sleep time to longer than the recording I wanted to do. So far this seems to have worked.

I own a Bush RP A3 turntable and radio with CD=need instructions

FIRST READ ALL, then check cables u need, then proceed!

u want to connect turntable to pc - don't need usb

or connect turntable audio-out to radio/cd.player and this combination to pc?

recording on mp3 player is an option, but quality else is much better!

u will need for case 1:

a pc-program called audio-grabber 1.83, downloadable on the inet
a pc with soundcard that has audio-in (3.5mmplug, also used for small microphones
and earphones)
and at least win 2000 on it
the cable connecting turntable and pc(see following)

if turntable has audio-out like

- two red and black-cinch ports (to connect to amplifier/radio)
you need adaptor cable from 2-plug (red/black, male) to 3.5mm audio-in (similiar tor headphones,
male version)

- turn-table has small(3.5mm) or big (6.3mm) earphone-in,
use signal from here, connect tt with pc using adaptor cable
(3.5mm, male + 6.3 to 3.5mm separate adappor (small earphone to fit in big) at one end and
3.5mm, male to plug into pc-soundcard's audio in)

do all the pluggin', then turn on PC, start up audiograbber, turn on tt let play, press record button
in audio grabber, make an test recording, half a minute will do.
now let audiograbber sample theresulting .ogg file to test.mp3 and test-play it with windows media player on your pc

voila une mp3 !

to have every song from vinyl sepatetly as mp3,
record and name it serately in audiograbber, let it sample down to mp3 and enjoy!
u may have to fiddle through audio-grabber's menus and adjust volume, sample rate(quality of mp3)
to your comfort, but now u own legal copies of your vinyls, with still the analog vinyl tickle
and know how to use audio grabber as an recording tool for any music that is played on or put into a pc, incl. webradio other webcasts

please don't stop the music
