Angelspapa20,

If there's no power at all to the receiver, then we can definitely check into it further. Try a different outlet if available to make sure it's not the outlet having an issue.

If the problem persists, the receiver will need to be replaced. You can contact our main line, or email me directly at thomas.faust@dish.com to get that taken care of!

My vip 722 dvr won't turn on. It shuts down after a few seconds then tries to reboot, only to shut down again

Hi Justine, my name is Kimberly and I form part of the Social Media Department with DISH. I regret the inconvenience you are experiencing with our receiver. Please unplug the box from the electrical outlet for 10 seconds, plug it back in and allow it to power back on by itself. After the receiver powers back on, it will acquire signal and download the guide, the issue should be resolved. If the issue persists then we would need to look into replacing the receiver. You can reach me at: kimberly.escobar@dish.com for further assistance.

About the only thing you could try would be to reset both the dish receiver and the tv. Disconnect both from electrical power source, (unplug) after a minute or so, plug them back in and try again. if neither works then you may have had some type of power surge.
Be certain your tv is in the right source, however the tv has been connected to your receiver.

My TV reads "Your receiver is currently off. Press select to watch TV" The receiver powers up fine, but none of my remotes nor the front control is able to move the receiver past this screen. Receiv

Please make sure the receiver is plugged directly into the wall, bypass any power strips. Make sure the remote has fresh batteries inside, press and release the SAT button and then press the select button. If the remote is not working, go to the receiver and try the select button and try to channel up and down. If you have any further DISH questions please e-mail me: michael.houston@dish.com

If you are using a powerstrip may not be supplying enough power to run the LG HDTV and your HD receiver. If you are using a powerstrip make sure the receiver is plugged directly into the wall. Otherwise this may be a grounding issue please reply if this doesn't work and we can look into some other possibilities.

For the past couple of days, every show our DVR has recorded freezes a couple of minutes into playing it and the DVR reboots itself. This always occurs at the exact same time on that show. We don't have...

Hi, Mary with Dish Network Customer Service. Since the DVR is the only thing having the freezing issue, it sounds like it maybe a hard drive issue. I would recommend resetting the receiver. Unplug it from the power supply for 10 seconds and then let the receiver reboot itself. If you are still having this issue, I would recommend calling Dish Network and we will need to replace the receiver. Hard Drive issues do not resolve themselves and only get worse over time. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Sound isn't working when watching tv

Hello, Matt Gonzales with DISH Network here. To resolve this issue, try doing a hard reset on the receiver. To do a hard reset, you will unplug the receiver from the power outlet, leave it for 15 seconds, then plug it back in. After doing this, your receiver will go through a rebooting process which takes about 5 minutes. If that does not work, it can be a cabling issue, proper cabling diagrams can be found at tech.dishnetwork.com. If you're not able to get it working, please feel free to email me at matthew.gonzales@dishnetwork.com.

My receiver will not power on. if you runplug it and again plug it in, it will stay on for 2 sec and shut off

My name is Becki, and I'm with Dish Network Customer Service. This issue sounds like a power issue. If you have the receiver plugged into a surge protector, try plugging it straight into the wall. If already in the wall, try unplugging it for 10 seconds. If that doesn't work, the receiver needs to be replaced. If this issue has not already been resolved, blog back!

Dish menu but no picture or sound

Try holding the power button in on the receiver until the picture goes away then turn it aloose it will reboot and your sound will usually come back. If you had rather and can get to it unplugging it from the electric outlet, the receiver, does the same thing.
