Question about Olympus AS-2300 PC Transcription Kit
I made the mistake of plugging my foot pedal into my USB port before I had installed the software - obviously it could not find the device drivers, but now that I have installed the software properly it will not even look for the device drivers to try to re-install them for the foot pedal. I have tried going into device manager to see if I could remove it and re-install it but the foot pedal is not even showing so I have no idea how to go forward from here to get the foot pedal recognised. I have looked at previous advice about the serial number - I only have one serial number, which has a [T] above it, so I do not think it can be anything to do with that. FURTHERMORE, although the software appears to be installed properly, when I have tried to import files there is nothing showing in the folders - I try to repeat the process it says that the file already exists, but I CANNOT SEE IT! Any ideas here?

SOURCE: Driver Issues
My dictation pedal for the Olympus AS-4000 used to work on windows XP, but I upgraded to windows Vista and and the foot pedal no longer works. I have tried it on another XP machine and it works fine, so it can't be the foot pedal.
I have downloaded a patch from the internet, but unfortunately this does not seem to have resolved the issue.
I have contacted olympus twice and they have been very unhelpful.

Check whether your foot pedal is a RS-26 or RS-28, and the DSS Player version. For some strange reason the DSS v5 is not backward compatible with the RS-26 foot pedals, and so you would need to purchase a RS-28.
I hope this hepls!

Chances are there to recover such kind of deleted files from your Olympus recorder.
First things first: DO NOT take any more videos or audio with the recorder that you want to recover files from in case you may quite possibly ruin your chances of voice memo file recovery.
Then connect your device to a PC, and have a try of Photo Recovery (also recover audio, voice memos, video files etc), a data recovery program which is good at recovering media files lost. If you are Mac OS X users, turn to Data Recovery for Mac.
Lastly, I hope you good luck. Again you should remember - the more you use your recorder, the less likely you may be able to recover the deleted files back! So STOP using the device ASAP.
