TXC15A shredder stuck on shread

For the money that was spent on this I fully expected it to function properly. I have to turn this "Off" every time I am done shredding anything, because it will keep running. I can not see anything jammed in either slot, i tried running it in reverse, in case the jam was deeper, did not work. If we just let it run, it will go until it overheats. any ideas?

It may be that there is a broken connection under the plastic switch cover that activates the proper electrical switch.

SOURCE: My shredder keeps running and won't stop in on/auto mode

Does the shredder have the electronic eye to sense paper? Sometimes dust will collect on the sensor causing it to keep running.

SOURCE: Shredder motor seems jammed

must disassemble feeder unit and visual check for jam. The debris may be a part of the shredder that has broken off.

SOURCE: My shredder stop shredding. has paper caught in it

Shredder drive gear is probably shredded - hard part to find or replace usually. Could mean a new shredder;-(

SOURCE: Shredder won't shred any more.

I have the Infoguard SX100M Axeus, sold by Staples.
Only the reverse was working, UNPLUG and open back cover, the paper mechanical switch was working fine, red side switch, the gears and fuse were all ok, I think something on the circuit board was fried.

I switched the BLACK and WHITE wires with each other going to the shredder motor, thus when I switched it to reverse, it would go foward and shred. Its working now, only in reverse.

SOURCE: the shredder will run in reverse but will not run foreward.

Inside the shredder there is a motor which is wired to run both forward and backward, the way it does this is to transfer the power from the switch to a couple of wires on the motor
The forward running motor will be linked to the auto start button which will tell it to work with the paper sensor.
When you select the Forward function the Auto Start is taken out of circuit and the Forward switch should supply the motor

After all of that I would say that the switch is open circuit on the Forward contact and needs replacing

Shredder keeps running on auto

Unplug it and check to see if theree is any paper caught in the Start switch. Turn it Off, plug it back in and start in the Reverse mode. Then turn it Off and set the swich for On - shread.

If that doesn't work unplug it and find the start switch trip wire, Toggle it a few times with something thin - don't push too hard. You can also spray the switch the canned air used to clean keyboards. Plug it back n, start it in reverse then move it to shread.

Model SPL-TXC15A. Why doesn't it operate?

The shredder may have gone into thermal overload as a result of trying to shred something unsuitable, such as a credit card or as a result of prolonged use. Sometimes operation resumes after a "cooling off" period. At others, the thermal overload shutdown is permanent.

Cleaning ladies were here yesterday. Evidently they did something because today when I turned it on both the red and green lights are lit and the expected humming sound is absent.

Check for the trigger wire. On Fellowes it is usually a thin wire in the middle of the unit that triggers the shredding mechanism. Also check to be sure the shredded recepticle is pushed in fully.
