SOURCE: No Picture - Samsung LN-S4692D 46in HDTV LCD

I had the same problem and I replaced the t-con board. My t.v. is fixed!!!! I just couldn't see spending another 700.00 dollars for a repair shop to fix it. The t-con board is located at the top of the t.v. once you remove the back cover. Be very careful removing the two plugs at the top of the board which was easy once I figured out how the clips worked. there is a black lever like connection which flips up, then grip with your fingers the tab and slide the tape like wires straight out. The bottom plug is very simple. Also to expose the t-con board you will have to remove a heat shield cover. Once removed there is foil looking tape that needs to be peeled back to expose the board. The board is very sensitive to static electricity so if you have a grounding strap that you can strap to your wrist and ground to the frame while performing your repair. Its best to lay the t.v. face down on the kitchen table with a blanket to protect the screen. Good luck!

To all who are having power supply issues: Samsung is now acknowledging a problem with faulty capacitors. I called 1 800 726-7864 and they said they would repair certain out-of-warranty TVs if the problem is related to the capacitors. I just called and they are sending a service rep out to diagnose the problem.

I had exactly the same issue... Opened the frame from the front (use a screwdrive on the join), and then pushed the PCB behind the buttons around (looks like some type of capacitive touch through the plastic). After that, works fine!

Samsung syncmaster 275t won't start - what to do?

The Samsung monitor is okay, the problem is a compatability issue between the laptop and monitor. The VGA toDVI is the problem you are converting a analog signal to digital, the signal level degrades when that is attempted. If I understand this the laptop puts out the analog signal "VGA" and the monitor has the DVI input, "digital" The only other suggestion is turn off the laptop screen to see if the monitor will work.

The tv s autostore will not retune

i think in your TV...... design ..... is such that once channels are autostored it cannot be retuned ..... so you try this ...... it may work ......... disconnect tv antenna cable ( or local tv channels cable ) from your TV & then click autostoring (auto tunning ) ..... definitely it will scans (search for channels ) ..... but since no cable is connected no channels will get stored ...... but previously autostored channels will get removed ...... so now again connect your antenna cable or local tv cable & then click autostore ...... it will scan for channels .... like this you can retune ....... but remember again you may get same quality of picture which you got earlier ..... if you want better quality of picture you have to use signal amplifier (increases cables signal's strength - then picture quality improves ) .....

WHEN I OPEN THE TV THE PICTURE & SOUND IS OK ,BUT AFTER A FEW MINUTES THE PICTURE BECOMES BLACK AND FADE BUT THE SOUNDS IS STILL GOOD .

There's a good chance you have failing electrolytic capacitors either in the power section or the inverter section or both.
Any caps in these sections that look bulged at the top, or bulged/leaking at the bottom need to be replaced.
If you repeatedly turn it off and on, eventually it'll probably stay on, but every time you turn it off, the TV will get harder and harder to start up until one day it just won't.
Sometimes you have to do the opposite to start it up and unplug it for some time and then try again.

If you aren't tech savvy, don't worry, read the rest of this solution and watch the videos.

If you are handy with a soldering iron and can identify the power supply and inverter / FM section for the backlights, an inexpensive handful of capacitors will likely fix you right up.
Match the capacitance on the capacitors. Go over voltage if you can, and still have them fit.
IE - it's not a bad idea to replace a 10V cap with a 16V or 25V or even a 50V, but don't replace a 680uF cap with a 500uF or a 1000uF (unless you are positive it's only doing ripple filtering, and even then, you should go OVER, not under the uF rating).

Most of the caps that go are 10V 1000uF or 3300uF.

I found some great videos of the procedure (for many Samsungs with the same issue) on youtube.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8l0AUj8QUkg&NR=1&feature=fvwp
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y7b_nTaZYcU&feature=related

As you can see, this issue spans plasma TVs, as well as large and small LCD TVs and monitors.
The parts are cheap, and skill required is minimal.

Samsung LN55A950 LCD TV 1) Had psychodelic patterns in TV and was told it was a capacitator. I had it repaired and the next day the issue started again. After the TV was on for an hour it went away. ...

I would take it back to where you had it repaired since the problem is still not fixed, it can be the T-CON board is bad.
