What is a netbook?

Wikipedia says:
Netbooks are a category of small, lightweight, legacy-free, and inexpensive computers.
At their inception in late 2007[1] as smaller notebooks optimized for low weight and low cost[2] - netbooks omitted certain features (e.g., the optical drive), featured smaller screens and keyboards, and offered reduced computing power when compared to a full-sized laptop. Over the course of their evolution, netbooks have ranged in size from below 5" screen diagonal to 12". A typical weight is 1 kg (2.2 pounds). Often significantly less expensive than other laptops,[3] by mid-2009, some wireless data carriers began to offer netbooks to users "free of charge", with an extended service contract purchase.[4]

Packard bell netbook nav50 battery stopped charging properly. bought a new charger and battery and it still wont charge it up.

LOL, I didn't know Packard Bell was still making computers. I would think they sold you a bad battery. I've purchased new batteries before that would not charge.

Battery is fully charged, but netbook won't turn on unless plugged in.

I would say that you definitely need to purchase a new netbook battery. If it's only turning on when plugged in, then the battery itself doesn't have any more charge cycles.

I purchase s10-3 netbook. i had problem with its battery which only runs 2 hours if it is fully charged. please assist!

How long have you been using the netbook? If it's brand new, then your battery life is too short. First of all, remember the following for ensuring that your battery performance is optimal:
1. A new battery pack must be fully charged before it is put into use.
2. A new battery pack needs to be fully charged and discharged a few times before it starts performing at full capacity.
3. Batteries discharge when left unused. If you intend to store the netbook for a while, make sure that the battery is fully charged before you do so.
4. Fully drain and fully recharge your batteries every few months.

If your netbook is new, then try one or more of the following and see how your battery performance gets affected: 1. Turn down the LCD brightness of your portable device.
2. Use built-in power management on your portable device.
3. Turn off LCD or other unnecessary accessories when not in use.
4. Set screen saver blank to 1 to 2 minutes of your netbook.
5.. Add more RAM if you can, as this will reduce the usage of the hard drive which exhausts the power quicker.

Hope this helps.

We have purchased a EPC mini-netbook 7". Suddenly we are unable to charge it either via the AC adaptor or from computer to computer via usb. What do you think the problem could be?

If you are able to use the power supply charger I will assume the laptop is usable. There are two possibilities, the main battery is bad and will not charge, or the charging circuits on the motherboard are faulty. Since this a new laptop it should be returned to rectify the situation.
