Question about Computers & Internet
I had new virgin media broadband installed last week and now I can't get my network harddrive to connect as it is apparently on a different subnet.. and because it is on a diffferent subnet discovery tool can't access it either .
Guys, I have never used a site like this before & sorry to sound dim but if i reset the drive will it erase the data?

The hard drive may still have an old IP address. Set your network hard drive to DHCP. Make sure the IP clears and it is on the routers IP subnet. Just ping the router
Go to Start > Search (Run in XP) and type cmd ENTER. In the command prompt type ipconfig /all ENTER.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Try to reset the router. This should resolve your problem. That model has a small hole were you must press with some a paper clip for exemple for a few seconds. This will reset the router to its original state.
