When i have the power button in "aim" position the display says "update software no" and there are no options when i try the options buttons (ok,up,down,left,right)

make sure the on-off-aim switch is snapped onto the arm of the swich on the PCB

does the aim work? LCD menu display mak be bad...turn cam to aim, red laser should come on, move switch all the way to left and watch for any flash of black dots/lines...try replacing display, available by emailing (don't call) www.moultriefeeders.com. They have been replacing these displays free of charge, free shipping with instructions...not hard to replace.
have you clicked "computer";checked for a removable drive,possibly id'd as "drive K,L,or Moultrie";double click;pics should be in file 100DCIM, or something like this...try plugging USB from camera in a different port;try reading directly from SD cart if you have a SD card reader...sometime Windows doesn't auto-load removable devices.
