Picture Problem I bought the 60" back in 2000, no problems at all until yesterday. When it comes on now I see 2 seperate pictures overlapping each other. One pic is green and the other red. When it first happened I could leave it on for awhile and the picture would correct itself and return to normal color. Now it just stays that way. I would really like to know what the problem most likely is and if it' worth fixing. I love this TV and would like to repair it as long as it won't cost a fortune. Any help would be greatly appreciated. CHRIS

We are having the same problem. Had a tech come out last week & change the blue & green coolant & it still didn't fix the problem. Did you ever get yours fixed?

Hello, I had a problem with mine. The colors separated a little, the picture got small and was worse on bright scenes. Got it fixed, the tech replaced an IC and I kept the part number.... Part# 483520988561. I don't know if the same IC controls the part of the picture that you have a problem with or not. I am happy that I got mine fixed, it was worth it. The tech knew the IC I needed from the description of the problem on the phone.

You have a bad convergence board. Replace two of the STK 392-040 ICs. And check all the resistors that are next to these ICs. Rplace the resistors as neccessary. This will repair your TV. Thanks for asking...sorry it took so long to find you!

My Vizio LCD TV screen fades to dark. Sound stays on.

I w having this same issue when watching a Blu-Ray disc. I found it to be dependent upon what picture mode the TV was set to. By this I mean certain picture modes would cause the TV to dim during dark scenes of a movie. Changing the picture mode helped a lot.

My sony xbr 60 picture turns off and on

No solution for you...but I have the same problem. I also had the green blob problem which sony fixed earlier this year. It happens on an intermittent basis. Screen goes off, standby light blinks green, then comes back on. Its off for maybe 1-2 min.

The picture will go black and the sound will go out. At the same time, the green power inicator will flash. Then the picture and sound will come back on for several seconds and then it will go out again....

My TV had the same problem. I called Sony yesterday and they told me to reset the TV. I did so yesterday, and it seemed to work. Here is the transcript with instructions:
Please turn ON the TV. While holding down the RESET button on the Remote control, press the POWER button on the TV. The TV will turn itself OFF, then back ON again. Release the RESET button. The TV will go thru the initial setup, and should work normal.

No picture, has sound

i have the same issue and after removing the back and doing a voltage test on cp506 and found the 24vdc that was suppose to be there lead me to the back light inverter. a very common problem for these tv's and if you can take a voltage test of vdc then you can confirm it! one problem the manufacture does not sell it seperate from the lcd panel so it is very expencive and to find them use they are hard to find because of them being a common problem! good luck and if you need help taking the voltage test let me know!

Samsung LCD tv - Turns on and off by itself.

Since you have another TV with the same problem you can try using an antenna(indoor model ok) to see if the cable is causing the problem. If not return TV before the warranty expires.

Lose picture 10-25 sec., keeps soud

I had the same problem with my set. the problem was with the lamp bulb. They don't teel you this, but when a bulb start to go, this can happen. Iuld turn my set on and it would work. After about 45 seconds, the picture would "turn off" (still have the sound). This would last for about 45 - 60 seconds and then the picture woudl come back, but then the cycle would stsart all over again. I took a chance and purchased a new bulb (I bought just the bulb, not the bulb and housing). I took out the current bulb and housing, replaced the bulb in the current housing, and put the bulb/house back in. Problem solved! (have not had the issue since). Hope this is helpful!

If the screen shrinks and expands its a common problem. Check the site www.magnavoxhelp.com for a chip kit to fix it.

SOUND BUT NO PICTURE

try resoldering the vertical output IC. have seen bad solder on that model make the picture tubes blank as a safety feature when vertical deflection drops out.
