Question about Sony EVI-D100 Webcam

SONY EVI-D100 constant blur which requires power off/power on

I have a SONY EVI-D100 camera which of late, over the past 20 days, consistently blurs after about an hour of use. I have to power the camera off then power it back on to get the clear image restored. Clarity lasts for an hour before I have to "restart" the camera again. What would be causing this issue? How can I correct it?

The camera is about 18 months old.

Normal 0 Probably has corrupt driver.
Try disconnecting the Camera from the USB port and reinstall the software program. When the program asks you to connect the camera to the USB port, do so and it should work.
Hope this helps. Bud

Hello, I have a Sony EVI-D100 (ptz), I can connect the camera to my laptop, but only by the VISCA cable, used to control remotely the camera via PC, therefore I can control the camera but none video is...

Visca cable is only for camera control, it does not transmit video signal. You will need a USB video capture device and a s-video or composite video cable. Make sure the device you choose has the drivers for your version of Windows.

You need to practice the correct shutter button technique. You need to press the shutter button half-way and wait for the focus to lock (it will beep) and then, when the moment is right, press the rest of the way for an instant picture with no "lag time".

I have a sony evi-d100 and i have the digital converter connected to my computer, my laptop is recognizing that there is a camera, but it cannot get the feed. Is this a software problem? if so can u help...

well i have a few questions.

1st, does the evi-d100 work? can you confirm there is a pic by plugging it into your tv. sorry to have to ask the simple question.

if it is, what capture device are you using?
many capture devices are defaulted to confiugurations that you may not be aware of.

what capture application are you using?

the evi-d100 has an s-video and a composite out, whuich are you using?
the capture software will aloow you to change the source in a few different ways.

look for the configuration option in the capture program...

sometimes the conguration is defaulted to pal versu ntsc. sometimes the default is the composite and you mmay be using the s-video.

I'd start there or send me the answers i need and I can repond in more detail perhaps.

Nikon ISO D100

Sounds like you are set in ISO AUTO. This will change your ISO when you are in light that is low enough to give underexposure. In most of the shooting modes, the D100 will change shutter and/or aperature to prevent underexposure, but if it can't avoid the underexposure, it will change the ISO to correct the underexposure.

It also sounds like you have a low light shooting situation. The blur you see is likely from the long exposure, which is pretty hard to hand hold. Noise in the picture would be from the high ISO, but if it's a noise problem you probably don't have blur.

Avoiding the blur is best done with a tripod or a shutter speed of at most 1/60. If you can't get a good exposure at 1/60 or faster, then try the tripod. If you can't use a tripod, then let the ISO (in auto) go up to 1600 and then remove the noise with photoshop or another photo editor. You'll have to play around with the noise reduction settings to get one that works for you.

The key to low light photos is to make sure you get an exposure that isn't blurred, even if you have to use a high ISO. It's easy to remove the noise in software, but blurry photos can't be fixed.
