Question about KitchenAid KHTU100KSS Kitchen Hood

Open Question

Hood fans not working, but lights do.

I have a kitchenaid hood that won't work. The lights work, and when I put it in, I put a screw through two wires. I have fixed the wires internally, but now I get no response. when the wires were hit, it would blow the circuit like it should, but now I get no response at all. a little red dummy light comes on around the connections of the switch?

Thanks,

-Matt

Agreed! It totally works. Our fan and lights were stuck on high. Flipped the hood circuit breaker off for 30 seconds then back on again and all controls are working normally again. Thanks!

KitchenAid KHTU160KSS Kitchen Hood makes noise

Remove the fan and motor assembly from the hood (the fan motor will plug into the hood housing) and using an electrical motor cleaner (such as CRC electrical motor cleaner available from your local auto parts store) wash the motor and fan as completely as possible, lubricate the end bearings (sparingly) with a very light oil such as sewing machine oil, gun oil or as a last resort 3 in 1 oil. Hope this helps.

Our Kitchenaid Range Hood model KWCU405SSS has a code "C" in the display. What does that mean?

I just did this and it works.

1.) Make sure to turn off both the fan and the lights. If you skip this step the next step won't work.

2.) Press and hold the + button for 4 seconds until the "C" disappears.

Repeat in another 100hrs of use.

We had our vent replaced by kitchenaid once and were about to call again and complain since our new one did just the same thing without resolution using the 'H' button as indicated in the manual! Thanks for help it's so appreciated!

unplug the unit and unscrew the bulbs. put 2 new in if they still dont work then you may have fried the control. there are usually no fuses between the control and light/fan. well i never saw a fuse between the 2.

Removing the fan

most fans dont come out. but it is not hard to take the hood down. there are most likly four screws in the top going down into the hood. undo them, making sure the hood is proped up. them is should just lift out of the backing plate and there is your bird. to put it back up just put it back on the backing plate then put the bults back in and make sure the vent is on properly.
