First you need to go into your router, get on your computer and type in 192.168.1.1 this will take you inside the router, go to gaming and applications. Go to port forwarding, enter the name xbox open the ports

  • TCP 80
  • UDP 88
  • UDP 3074
  • TCP 3074
  • UDP 53
  • TCP 53
  • Find out what the ip address of your xbox is set at, this is done in the xbox control panel. Open up those ports to that ip address of your xbox. you will probably have to enter more than one entry for all those ports, make them x1, x2,x3 an so forth. save settings. and then go to your xbox and try to get online.

Here is a link that might help more.

How do I get two xbox 360s to have an open NAT on a Cisco Linksys WRT160N V2 wireless router?

you need to setup both your xboxes with a static IP address for example
    192.168.1.50 xbox 1 192.168.1.51 xbox 2
on your linksys router you will need to setup port forwards for both xboxes

Click the Applications & Gaming link near the top of the page.

You should now see a new menu. In this new menu, click Port Range Forward.

requires you to forward the following ports: 53,80,88,1863,3074

I have a P-660HW-D1 v2 zyxel router but on our Xbox the NAT is always strict. I've looked at a few online guides and everyone says to go to UPnP and click all the boxes. Well I did that and still no open...

    follow this guide
    http://howto.wired.com/wiki/Set_Up_Port_Forwarding_on_Your_Xbox_360
setup your xbox with a static ip address.
setup your router with the following ports forward to the ip address you gave your xbox
Since you've already assigned a specific address to your Xbox, you can now open up the individual ports of this address. According to Microsoft, the ports that require forwarding are UDP 88, UDP 3074, and TCP 3074. If your router requests a range, just be sure that the numbers entered span this range (i.e., 87-89 for the first port, 3073-3075 for the second, and so on).

I'm trying to play my xbox, and the message keeps saying to go to the router configuration web page to make sure port 3074 is open in my firewall... But I can't find it anywhere, the port OR the web page.

You have to go to the router setup page and go to port forwarding menu. Forward means "open" in router terms. So just forward the ports you need so your xbox will be able to communicate to the internet via the router.

I have a BEFSR41 Lynksis router and when i try to connect to xbox live it tells me my NAT type is Moderate and it should be Open. How do i change it to Open?

Xbox LIVE has default ports that needs to be forwarded on the router.

To forward the ports, access the setup page of the router. In your internet browser's address bar type 192.168.1.1.

Leave the username blank and then the password is admin.

Go to the Applications & Gaming tab, click Port Range Forwarding.

In the application field, type XBOX LIVE.

    Start End Protocol
    53 53 Both
    3074 3074 Both
    80 80 TCP
    88 88 UDP

In the IP address field, type the IP address of the XBOX. Check the enable button. Then save settings.

    Good luck!

How do i get NAT OPEN

To get the NAT open, you have to forward specific ports. If you are doing this for xbox live, then call microsoft and ask for an "agent." Tell them that when you test your xbox live connection, your NAT is strict or moderate. They will give you a specific port to open. With that information, You go to your router's setup, and look for port fange forwarding. Enter the information given and save it. For further assistance, call netgear's help line and they will help you.
