Firstly log into your router from your computer. If you don't know the username and password, try the default one which is Username: admin Password: Admin. Check under Wireless setting and you will see the current password listed there. You can change it to a new one if required. Just remember to save after you've done any changes.

Password to acess your router configuration is set by the Internet Service provider, there are some passwords that are default but are not guaranteed to work. Try the following:

• Login with preset password: admin.
  
• Or change password: click "I forgot the password." Under question "Here's a hint for the password wedding date", click "I still can't remember the password.". Then Reset System Password by enter System Key which locate on back of the Router (like: [1234567890]), and your new password, then click "Submit"

If you forgot your user and password of router then press RESET button of router for 10 seconds it is in back side of router. Then all settings defaults. Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link. http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.15.1 or http://192.168.2.1 If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it. Then it ask for user name and password. Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank. Then you can see configuration page of router. Then configure wan settings and lan settings enable wireless if you want to use wifi . If you forgott WEP password in wireless security note down the WEP code it is your password to connect wifi.Then save settings and restart router. Let me know if you need further assistance. on the router there should be a little button press that for 5 secs and then release this will reset everything to fatory settings then you can log on using either

• username: admin password: password
• username: admin password: EMPTY

you can find it by going into the administrator/router configuration web page and under the wireless section you may be able to find it!

the config page is usually found by typing in your internet browser 192.160.0.1 then press enter, then when asked to enter user name and password, leave user name blank and password enter "admin"

if you can't access the configuration page because you also set a different password or user name that you can't remember the only option is to reset the unit to defaults pressing for 30 secs a reset button usually found on the back of your router while your router is powered.

some new linksys routers I have encounter may require a pin instead of a password, the pin is found on the bottom of the router, try that too.

Resetting your wireless password

Connect your router to your laptop through a ethernet cable.

Open the router admin console in your browser:-
Now browse to http://192.168.1.1.
Enter admin/password or admin/admin to login to the admin console of router.
There will be a link on the admin console for security and authentication. There you can find the password edit box where you can modify the password which you can now remember.
You can additionally use a WPA / WEP key/paraphrase to protect your wireless network.

Option-2:
In worst case you can do the following. But this will loose all your old settings.

You can reset your router settings by pressign the reset button at the back side of your router using a paperclip for around 30 seconds. WARNING: This resets all your previous settings.

so u need to reset it if u forgot password.
By default password is "admin" or blank or "password"
user name "admin"
and if u set another password then u must have to reset if u forgot.
U can find reset button in back side of router press it for 10 seconds then it reeset.
But u have to configure it again.

What is the brand of the router your using? This information will be from the router that you have. Use a wired connection from the router,check your default gateway (ipconfig) and type that numbers in your address bar. You will be able to access your set-up page, look for wireless tab and look for wireless security. You will see there your WEP key.
