Question about HP PhotoSmart InkJet Printer
The magenta and yellow print on the test page just fine but there is not a red square. Shouldn't there be a red and black test squares on the test print page? I have cleaned the printer heads and reset printer to factory defaults. The red color in the images come out a yellow color.

Press the Go and Rotate Carousel buttons simultaneously. This will calibrate the printer. See if this works.
Otherwise....Remove all cartridges and drum. Switch off printer. Close the lid. Switch on printer and wait until any churning stops. Insert the drum and close the lid. Wait until any churning stops. Put in one cartridge at a time, closing the lid and wait till it stops churning each time. With the last cartridge put in, it will churning longer (calibrating). Try to print from your computer.
It could also be that the toner could actually have run out for the other colors.

Try this :
Take out the power cable from the back of the printer keep on tapping the power button for 30 secs ; then plug it back.
Take out the catridges clean them with a Lint free cloth (copper contacts); also clean the catridge slot of the printer; put in back the catridges ;
Unplug the power cable from the back of the printer; press and hol down the (#) and the (6) button simultaneously with one hand and with the other hand put in back the power cable; and then release the (#) and (6) button;
It will perform a reset on the printer
IF still then it doesn't work then the catridge slot's copper contacts has gone bad and need to replace

The following may work: remove all the ink supplies. Remove the printhead and soak it for about 5 minutes in 0.5" of very hot water. Gently blot the printhead on a soft damp paper towel to remove the excess water, then replace in the printer and then reinstall the ink supplies.

The print heads are probably clogged :^(
Has the printer been unused for some time? Does the printer show that the cartridges are full?
Does the printer show any errors? It could be that he waste reservoir is full (or thinks it is full) I would suspect that it would report an error though.
If the printer was not used for a while, the ink could be dried on the print heads. Print heads are kind a like paint spray cans. You can try cleaning the print head nozzles with alcohol and or water. The best way to do this is to put a moist (you do not want liquid to drip into the system though) cloth or paper towel under the nozzles. Make sure the printer is unplugged though so any liquid does not fry the electronics. Make sure the printer is completely dry before plugging in again.
Hope this helps, Jim
