The problem is down to a worn out heating element, just coincidence that you cleaned the oven I think. Same happened to me! The top oven has a seperate element.

You need to inspect the element, there's a guide here, it's quite easy. Just be sure to turn off the power to the oven first!

I had to have my element fixed and was told that its the cleaning products that spray that are the problem. It builds up on element & in time coats it so it pops. I now have a timer problem where the oven simply won't turn on due to the timer... driving me mad !!!

Why does the fan mode on the bottom oven on my zanussi Zou575 not working?

Because in Main Oven Cavity (large) around the convection fan is very powerful ring heating element 2500W (not visible) who works in the Fan mode. Therefore, it is not necessary that all heaters work because it will overheat the oven.

Lower oven not heating

  1. Your oven will not work until the clock/timer has been re-set after replacing an oven element or tripping the electrical supply. Consult your Zanussi manual.
  2. If you're Oven is not getting hot or heating up it could be a faulty element, if the fan in the oven is running and the thermostat light is on, this will lead us to believe that the element has gone faulty. With grills the thermostat light should come on there should be heat, if not then this could be the grill element or the thermostat.
  3. When you turn the oven on, the household electrical supply trips on the Rcd (this is the earth trip in the fuse board sometimes called the breaker tripping) your fan oven element has gone to earth and needs replacing.

The bottom oven dosen't heat up yet the fan and the light still works. The model is Zanussi ZU270F.

You need to replace the oven element, located behind a removeable panel at the rear of the oven compartment.

The bottom oven on my zanussi zuq 875 has stopped working. No power indications of any kind.Top oven works fine. Followed instructions in manual but no power at all.ie; indicator lights, fan ,oven light....

Hello,
Have you checked that the timer clock is set and not flashing, because the rest of the cooker will work after power outage but for the main/fan oven to work the clock needs resetting.

Hope this helps.

Bottom oven not heating up

If it is a fan assisted electric oven and the fan is working o/k, and the temp indicator lamp is lit, then you need to replace the oven element, located at rear of oven compartment behind removeable cover.

Fan oven on zanussi electric cooker does not heat up

From symptons, I would say the fan oven element is faulty, more so if the fan is working. Remove inner rear panel of oven and see if element gets warm, let it run for a minute, switch off and feel if element is warm, if not, then replace.the element.
Plz rate this solution.
Thanks.
