You might have forgotten your password, or you might have CAPS-LOCK on or been holding a shift key while typing out a character. Check these and try keying in your password slowly and pay attention to each character as you type them out. This should certainly work.

If it is moving as the hammer is struck, then it's one of two things. Either the hammer is moving too slowly, or the ribbon is moving too quickly. Since this is a rather old machine, it seems more likely things would slow down than speed up. I'd check the hammer solenoid. See if it's dirty, or needs lubricated. I wish I could give you more advice on this, but I am not familiar with this specific model, and was unable to find any kind of service manual, or troubleshooting information for it.

What causes keyboard to type characters very slow or not at all?

Sounds like your system may be updating or installing something thats taking up a lot of your Computers processor giving you a delay in your typing display.

Also this could be due to lack of system resources meaning you just have too much running for your computer to handle

Try cleaning up your Temp files using the clean up wizard and also on your taskbar next to your clock make sure there are not 20 icons as these are all programs running that can slow down your machine,

Watch the demo (1:00)

If you have download Windows Search, after install it will index your whole hard drive and network drives which can take days and slow down your machine as well

press windows button and in the search type msconfig go to startup tab and uncheck those you dont want to start.

you might have to many programs trying to or accessing your computer or the internet at the same time or a virus
scroll to bottom toolbar (bottom of screen) right click select task manager

applications you will see whats running
if you see anything you dont need running select end now and you might uninstall that specific

program if you or computer does not require it to run and
some unnecessary programs that could be jamming up your computer

also under processes see what is ticking over in the background again if you see something you

dont need to be running select end now and users you will see who is using your computer

hope this helps

It sounds to me like you have a faulty keyboard. You need to contact Acer, or the store where the laptop was purchased, and arrange for the laptop to be repaired. This should be covered under warranty, unless the machine has suffered any physical damage, such as a fluid spill.

This is a common problem with flash based inputs on touch screens. Things are a bit better on version 3.0 of Android. I hope that the galaxy tab is going to be dated to this version someday.
