Question about Mitsubishi VS-60805 60" Rear Projection Television
The red canon goes out for awhile then turns back on and stays on for awhile. This is been going on for about 2 years. Now in addition to that the blue canon doesn't want to converge. It makes everything in double vision with the top and bottom corners pulling in a U-shape. Can it be repaired???
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Your Green and Blue horizontal video amplifiers have collapsed: try using a freon cold spray on these chips as this occurs when the heatsink grease dries up on the HVA chips and, causes an overheat condition; if you have an oscilloscope monitor the vert drive as well.

One of your convergence IC's has either cracked loose or burned out. The IC will have to be resoldered or replaced and then the convergence circuits realigned. If you do not have experience in repairing convergence circuits then have a qualified tech handle it for you. This is by far the most common failure in the projection sets and a good tech can have it fixed in about an hour and a half. I charge $150 for that but shops in your area will vary, so call around.

This is a convergence problem that is either poor solder connections at the convergence ICs or defective ICs. If you can solder, you can fix this yourself. Update this if you wish to attempt the repair and I'll provide additional details and instructions.

Well, you did the right first step. However, when the convergence outputs toast up they sometimes cause other problems. First would be the fuses that supply them voltage. These are pico fuses back in the power supply. Second would be open supply resistors that have opened up because of the excessive current draw caused by the whacked out convergence amps. When changing the outputs doesn't solve the problem it takes the repair out of the realm of the do-it-yourselfer. My recommendation is to let a professional take over.
