LGShine LG Shine went through the wash. Let it dry several days over an air vent. It now has a new battery. The guy at the store adjust the resolution as best as possible but the screen is still very dull and challanging to read.

For ag11988:
i have heard that when u drop a phone into water it discharges all battery power into the phone.
This is not true; the voltages with which the device normally operates will not cause the battery to 'discharge' unless it's the Great Salt Lake. Water alone can be loaded with contaminents (other than salt) that can form conductive paths that may well disable the phone.
I'd recommend to LG Shine to remove the battery, take the phone to a jewelry store and ask them to use their ultrasonic bath and some distilled water for 15-30 minutes then allow it to dry again for several days before trying it again. This may not help, but it won't harm the phone any more than the thrashing it took in a chemical bath with the laundry.
Good luck-

The water usually shorts out the little lcd screen. i have heard that when u drop a phone into water it discharges all battery power into the phone. in effect shocking the screen, speakers, keypad etc. best thing to do when this happens is to check if your warrenty is expired and try to get a new one. if u dont have a warrenty, open the phone completely and let all guts dry. i am now a cell expert, i dont advise anyone to open a cell phone, becauce it could result in personal injury or damage to phone. only try this if u are skilled with small devices. attempt at your own risk.

WENT THROUGH WASH- WON'T TURN ON?

The phone should careful be opened and let dry for several days. The battery should also be replaced to avoid accidents. after several days let's say 1 week that it was left to dry try putting on a new battery and turn on. it should work.

My son put his LG Shine through the wash. We immediately opened it up, removed the battery and dried it out as best as possible. We left on an air vent for 4 days, put in a new battery and turned it...

What you've done so far is perfect. All it needs now is more time to dry out completely.

If you can afford to do without it for that long, remove the battery again and leave the phone in a dry place. Come back to it after a couple of weeks and see how it behaves. Repeat this until it is back to normal.

After my son's KG290 went through the wash last year, it was several months before we put it back into service.
